Care to explain how you can become a Christian and never ask God for forgiveness? Trump said he’s never asked God for forgiveness.
Care to tell us how you became so self righteous?
>>> Trump said hes never asked God for forgiveness <<<
Yes, but he doesn’t need to do so, because he never does anything wrong. Nothing to see here. Move along,
You asked about “how you can be a Christian and ....”
Actually, there is a an answer to that - it’s in the Bible, you know the thing which defines Christianity. Over and Over again the Bible states that what you have to do to be saved is BELIEVE that Jesus is the Son of God, and died for our sins.
You bring up an interesting point about forgiveness. I have heard people who were Christians say they would not forgive someone who had wronged them because that someone never came to them and said they were wrong and asked for forgiveness.
If you read your bible, you will see that this is NOT the manner in which God forgives. God, in the person of Jesus Christ, DIED for our sins while we were yet sinners, and had not yet asked for forgiveness (if ever). In the parable of the prodigal son, note the father runs to the son and bestows lavish gifts on him and celebrates his return - he did not wait in his house for his son to come and apologize and beg forgiveness.
This is the God we have! He is NOT LIKE men who are full of themselves.
If you require everyone to ask for your forgiveness, be very careful, because the bible is clear with the fact that whatever manner of judge you are, that is how you will be judged. I would hope you stay up late at night trying to figure out what you might have done (knowingly or even unknowingly) that might have offended God, because if you forget to ask for forgiveness......
Fortunately, our God is NOT like that. He is a loving father.
So, let me ask-would it be reasonable for an earthly father to throw out his son because his son did not ask for forgiveness on a matter? No. That does not mean however, the son should not ask for forgiveness. It simply means the position of the son (in our case our salvation) is NOT dependent on our correct behavior - Jesus paid it all.
