To watch the recent happenings on Capitol Hill, you would think this was just another typical presidential election yeara few bumps here and there, but no sign of a major shake-up, no indication voters were in revolt, nothing to suggest business as usual in Washington was perhaps falling out of fashion among the American public.
What else explains the lackluster, uninspiring, and I would suggest, sell-out your base agenda of GOP congressional leadership?
For example, the Senate GOP sold out its base on the issue of Common Core this week......
Thats right, despite the fact Congress passed a Budget Control Act, supposedly to control the budget, Boehner and Obama blew through it, adding another $30 billion....

Separately Genevieve Wood points out that the top vote getter in the DC GOP primary was Rubio and Kasich with Trump and Cruz getting very little votes. There you go, DC actually votes exactly opposite of the rest of the Country. We better wake-up over this Trump/Cruz fight because the GOPe is laughing its a$$ off over how stupid the base is.
If only Trump amd Cruz would join forces to defeat the GOPe.
They would make history and our country would be saved.
They better not give in to the spoiled brat Kenyan’s tantrum over his “legacy”. What about AMERICA’S legacy? It’s time for the GOP to stand up for Americans for once. The “media” is already singing the praises of Obonzo’s nominee, Garland. They’re claiming that “conservatives” like him. Well, “conservatives” liked Roberts too until he came out of the closet.
The GOP rolls over again and stabs it base in the back. These people MUST be booted out of office.
Ryan’s real bold conservative message? Ruling against the will of the people. There was a poll posted here yesterday indicating 73% of the American people, not just Republicans, oppose spending increases. If they can’t fight a conservative battle with that kind of wind at their backs, how am I supposed to believe they will do anything with the presidency?
They GOPe might be laughing but it won’t be long before they join John Boehner in the joys of retirement... They’ll finally have time to reorganize their closets and muse over why they threw their power away... for nothing.
For whatever it’s worth, it’s ‘the base’ that put them in their cushy jobs - and it’s ‘the base’ that’s going to retire them.
We are NOT amused.
The GOP has rolled over for Obama for the last seven years. Given him practically everything he wanted. But what have we got? A big nothing.
What has the GOP done over the last few DECADES to reduce the size of government and spending? If anything, it is more corrupt than ever.
Do you really think the Chamber of Commerce would be sincere in begging our forgiveness? Trust me, they will say anything to get what they want and that is never going to change my FRiend.
There is a reasonable alternative to sitting at home: vote for promising “new blood” that is conservative and untainted by too many years on Capitol Hill.
Cruz had his shot and he blew it. He wanted to have his outsider cake and eat his insider cake as well. The Don don't play that.
We need more billionaires to run for House and Senate so that K Street doesn’t run our government.
PING!
Cruz is not going to join forces with Trump after Trump keeps calling him the biggest liar he’s known.
Trump has such a big mouth that he will eventually alienate every single person he should be allied with.
