A federal judge in New York ruled last week that the Iranian regime is liable for damages in the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001.
The ruling by George Benjamin Daniels, Judge of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, ordered Iran to pay almost $11 billion in compensation to families of victims killed on 9/11 and to insurance companies who covered those suffering damages in the attack.
The Iranian government failed to defend itself in the lawsuit, and the ruling is a default judgment.
According to court documents publicized by Asharq al-Awsat, a London-based Arabic-language newspaper, Iran helped to facilitate the 9/11 attacks, giving Al Qaeda agents critical training and support.

Didn’t they just get like 150 billion for capturing 10 of our soldiers???
Now we gonna ask for 11 billion of it back???
Wouldn’t it just be easier to capture a couple of their soldiers?
Good thing Obama and Kerry gave Iran $150 billion dollars!!!
No, that was money we confiscated from US investments they had after the capture of our embassy during the Carter years.Plus we added interest.
It's amazing what Hezbollah has gotten away with over the decades, starting with killing 241 U.S. Marines while they slept in their barracks in Beirut in Oct of '83. NO repercussions, ever.
Israelis eventually got him but that’s all.
Um....holy shit. Can we keep Obama and Jarrett in Cuba now?
In case anyone has doubts, the $150B that Obama is giving Iran is proof that they have done something so destructive that Obama couldn’t resist celebrating with a gift of huge amounts of money.
Right, the nation that always chants “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” can’t do that. Or fund Hamas as they have for years. Even Captain Obvious can see the reality here. Lay off the dark-web anti-Israel stuff.
Still our money.
"In a 2014 New Yorker interview, Obama said his goal was to create a 'new equilibrium' in the Middle East.
In the short run, at least, his signature diplomatic undertaking can be counted on to bring more violence to this volatile region.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as the [Obama-Putin Iran deal] agreement is formally known, provides the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism an infusion of somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 billion of unfrozen assets and a great deal more of continuing revenues as businesses and governments around the world rush to profit from oil-and-gas-rich Iran's reintegration into the world economy.
The agreement relaxes the international isolation of the Islamic Republic and ratifies Tehran's status as a nuclear threshold state. And it relieves restrictions on Iran's acquisition of weapons, including ballistic missiles. ..."

Trump: Vladimir Putin's praise is 'a great honor'...It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond ,"

All I said was that I found it totally strange that Shia Iran would be collaborating with Sunni Al Qaeda within Sunni Saudi Arabia. Possible? Anything is possible. Probably? Not to me.
If my saying that means I am 'anti-Israel' then I wonder what you call people who make a point you disagree with in other matters. I think in FR people are still allowed to have their own opinions, even if they ran contrast to what others think, and in my book countries like Saudi Arabia should be hit hard long before Iran comes into the picture. And I say that with full faith that Iran is no friend to the West, or to Israel.
Maybe it’s a case of the old “The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Friend”. Or maybe at least SOME of the Iranians/AQers think that a flawed Islamic denomination is still Islamic. Who knows?
Iran’s Hezbollah worked with the Saudi Hezbollah to blow up Khobar Towers, and they helped the attackers of the USS The Sullivans a plot which failed because their boat took on water. The attackers tried again on the USS Cole and succeeded.
The current leader of al Qaeda -the former #2 to bin Laden- is Zawahiri, the Egyptian eye doctor. He has family among in Iran’s ruling Mullahs.
Zarqawi, now deceased, controlled a smuggling route from Afghanistan and Pakistan that ran through Iran to Iraq.
The whole Sunni-can’t-work-with-Shiite thing is about as valid as the idea that the capitalist US could not align with communist Stalin in WW2, yet we did. If there’s a mutual enemy there will be at least limited cooperation.
A prominent pro-Hezbollah newspaper in Lebanon reported Tuesday that Russia and the terrorist organization have formed an alliance and will fight together in Syria. "The parties to the alliance are the states of Russia, Iran, Syria, and Iraq, with Lebanon's Hezbollah as the fifth party,"
Al-Akhbar Editor in Chief Ibrahim al-Amin wrote. The pact would be called the "4+1 alliance"--a pun based on the P5+1 that negotiated the nuclear deal with Iran. Hezbollah is a proxy of Iran based in Lebanon and Moscow has been working with Tehran to save Bashar al-Assad's regime, even sending men and weapons to Syria.

"Over the next six years, Litvinenko became an anti-Kremlin journalist, accusing the Russian government of abuses during their battles with Chechen separatists in the 1990s, and the FSB's alleged 1999 bombing of 300 people in explosions at apartments in Russia that was used to justify its second war against Chechnya.
He also claimed two of the Chechen separatists who took hostages at a theater in Moscow in October 2002 during which 162 people died were working for the FSB.
He also pointed the finger at the FSB for having trained al Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri."

Joe Scarborough: Again, he [Putin] kills journalists that don't agree with him
Trump: Well, I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so, you know. There's a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now, Joe. Lot of killing going on, a lot of stupidity, and that's the way it is.
LONDON - Russian President Vladimir Putin "probably" personally sanctioned the nuclear murder of ex-spy Alexander Litvinenko, a British judge ruled Thursday.
The dissident died in 2006 after drinking green tea poisoned with radioactive polonium-210 in a London hotel. Litvinenko had predicted that Russia would assassinate him and claimed on his deathbed that Putin likely ordered his killing.
After a six-month public inquiry, a British judge ruled that the one-time KGB agent was murdered on the orders of Russia's FSB security agency - and that the action was "probably approved" by Putin. ..."
But aren't you a Trump supporter? His trusted ally, Vladimir Putin, has stood firmly behind Iran for many years.
I have no doubts that the Saudi’s were involved.
Where were most of them from?
“I am sorry, but this is unadulterated BS. Yes, Iran is a terror-state that deserves sanctions, and it is no friend to the West, but I simply find it hard to view that Shia Iran (Shia Iran) coordinated a terror attack on NYC with Al Qaeda (Sunni Al Qaeda).”
Hard to disagree with this. I suspect many have no idea the historical enmity between Sunnis and Shias. Sunnis do hate apostate Shias with a particular passion.
