I was around for that election - and Reagan never generated the level of revulsion and disgust within the party and in the general population that Trump has. So that is not a good analogy.

I agree.

Coburn seems to have little interest/stomach for either Trump or Cruz. There is a group that wants neither man.

Mitt Romney is robocalling us in Utah to stop Trump.

His message is not Pro-Cruz.
Of course the day before I got a Pro-Kasich robocall, in Mitt Romney’s voice telling us to vote for Kasich.

Its a crazy election.

Sorry, next time I need one I’ll be sure to end with a sarcasm tag. :) My bad... Thanks.

That is not true.

1976 Reagan vs. Ford

They did hate Reagan, and they also hated Goldwater.

They were very revulsed by both men.

Listen to Phyllis Schlafly describe the goings on.

My mother was a delegate for Goldwater, she was at that convention.

The real difference now, is that we can see the elites tweeting and gyrating in real time, where it was always kept from view pre-social media.

We have never had such a close up view before. The “news” was always filtered.

Does it look rough? Guess what? It’s always been that way.

Madame President

John Anderson and Jimmy Carter together couldn't beat Ronald Reagan, and Tob Coburn and Hillary Clinton can't beat Donald Trump.

I was around then too, and remember it distinctly differently.

O, there were a lot of establishment types that hated Reagan, no doubt, as did the Dems - but Reagan never generated the type of animosity from the public that Trump generates. Even if they opposed him, most of the public did not dislike Reagan personally.

“Cool, Tom, and just so you know, I’m okay with voting against every Republican down ticket in this election and every election to come.”

Me too, and the more Trump supporters that let these arrogant AHoles in the GOPe know that they’re about to turn Trump supporters to Dem voters, the better.

If they play their dirty tricks to deny the man we’ve chosen to be our nominee then I’m going to use my vote against them.

I will not go quietly and let them screw me again.

The GOPe is truly stupid if they can’t see that we’ve had a true conservative opposing Trump this entire time in Ted Cruz. The GOPe has done nothing but cockblock Cruz from the nomination. If they truly wanted a conservative they’d have coalesced around Cruz months ago. Any 3rd party candidate run by the GOPe certainly will NOT be a conservative.

It’s a smokescreen... the real plan is to steal the election at the convention.

“That’s my plan as well. If the Cheap Labor Express gets their amnesty candidate from the RNC/GOP or they pull some phony 3rd party crap, I will become a kamakazi voter and vote for every Democrat on my ballot in November and forevermore.”

Me too and we need to let the GOPe and all Republicans running for election know it while we still have some leverage to influence them.

The “I want Hillary to be president” wing of the Republican Party should be kicked to the curb.

I’ve been posting this comment on here and on every site I go to that uses Disqus. I mean it and I don’t care who doesn’t like it.

“GOP hear me on this! I’m voting for Donald Trump for President this November, as the R nominee or as a write in if I have to. If I have to do a write in vote because of dirty tricks at the convention, I’ll do so, but then I’m going to vote a straight Dem ticket on the rest of my ballot.

You might think Hillary will be easier for you to deal with than Donald Trump, but you’ll be singing a different tune when waves of Republicans are swept from office and the Democrats have super majorities in both houses of the next congress. Donald Trump supporters will not stay home on election day, we’ll vote for him as a write in candidate and then vote FOR your Democrat opponents.

Millions of Americans who have been reliable Republican voters have concluded that the leadership of both parties has been operating in the interests of Big Money and Big Business to the detriment of the middle class and we’ve had enough. If you insist on ruining what we consider our last chance to save this country to keep your place at the trough, then let’s get this party started.”

We have also learned how amazingly DUMB the average GOPe member is. It was only BIG money that kept them out of trouble. It no longer works : )

Don't be too sure about that. I think many Trump supporters would be so fed up they would actually vote Democrat

Funny, it's the GOPe and some Cruz supporters I see who are saying that.

I have never nor will I ever vote for a Democrap.

I support the destruction of the DC cabal, Trump of Cruz will do it, more so Trump IMO.
