Child grooming offences in the North East have more than doubled in the last two years.
Figures released by Northumbria Police have revealed that there were 34 cases of sexual grooming in the first six months of 2015-16.
That compares with 33 in the whole of 2014-15, 10 in the whole of 2013-14, and just nine in the whole of 2012-13.
Grooming is when someone builds an emotional connection with a child to gain their trust for the purposes of sexual abuse or exploitation.
Nationally, there were 498 recorded cases of grooming in the first six months of 2015-16, which covers the period from April to September last year- that is more than the 459 cases in the whole of 2013-14.
The stark rise comes in the wake of a number of high-profile cases which have pushed grooming up the political agenda.

The article fails to mention Muslims but most of these cases involve Muslim men.
The British political class are cowards who will not defend their own people.

This is the UK so I guess it doesn’t include exposing the breasts of a 17 year old girl on stage in Australia and getting away with it because the girl’s family won’t press charges.
No. Not all.
Some will be native. Others may be ‘historical’ cases (ie Jimmy Savile or children’s homes).
There is certainly a gross over-representation of Muslim sex gangs, but people have to realise not every crime committed in the UK is by Muslims. Most aren’t.
Sadly plenty of ‘native scum’.
Also there isn’t a hugely significant Muslim pop in the NE of England. Which is Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesborough, Northumbria, County Durham. The Muslim and ethnic pop. there is fairly small.

I guess we agree.
No, but not all, I mean most will not be. I know the area and its make up, I used to work in the NE. I know the NE very well. And I know that most crime is committed by white NE’ers. As most NE’ers are white English/British and Irish. The Muslim and ethnic groups there are small: Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, black British. The NE cities have small ethnic pops and the rural areas much less if any. Most of the NE of England is beautiful rural areas.
As I said, Americans need to stop thinking Islamic crime infects all of the UK. Were this London or other areas, yes, I might agree. But many parts of the UK, contrary to myth, are Muslim/ethnic light or free. After all, 96% of the UK isn’t Muslim, and 92% of it is white.
