Cruz swipes Trump in AIPAC speech
The Washington Examiner ^ | 3/21/2016 | GABBY MORRONGIELLO

Ted Cruz on Monday mocked Donald Trump's grasp of history and promised not to be neutral in a negotiation between Israel and Palestinians, something Trump has said he would do if elected president.

At his speech before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Cruz started by highlighting a mistake Trump made during his own speech just minutes earlier.

"Perhaps to the surprise of the previous speaker, Palestine has not existed since 1948," Cruz said, drawing mixed laughter and applause from the crowd.

well i thot it was a great speech overall and he got tremendous applause. he can articulate issues of concern concerning israel better than trump. some of the points where similar enough as the not be a difference on policy. cruz is a lawyer politician, d is not i think that encapsulates the difference.

Adlai Stevenson III is the highest IQ presidential candidate on record— and you know what.... he lost, big time to a personable military executive who conducted Allied forces in Europe, and who also later condemned the “military industrial complex”. The very same “complex” we face much worse, today, and whom the uni-party desires to control so they can milk even more out of our pockets for their adventures in foreign policy.

True arrogance is a sure sign of deep weakness, weakness of the ego. And.. any negotiator knows that... around the world.

It is his natural state. Default mode.

As a brilliant constitutional scholar and lawyer, he thinks he is the smartest person in any room.

When he gives his sermon-lectures, it shows too.

No wonder his own father explains he has been anointed.

Jewish people make up only 1.5% of the American population, and the great majority of them are Democrats who are concentrated in New York City and other metropolitan areas and would never vote for a Republican be he Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, or whoever.

American Jews are important in elections because they are major political donors. However, Donald Trump is not taking donations because he’s a billionaire, so only Ted Cruz can benefit from speaking to AIPAC, which he probably did by picking up a few extra millions from his pro-Israel speech.

But the major benefactor of Jewish money this election year is Jewish himself — Bernie Sanders, who once worked on an Israeli kibbutz.

In a head-to-head competition between Bernie and Donald Trump, Bernie wins by 10%, compared to Hillary’s 6%. If Bernie wins the big states — New York, California, Illinois — he’ll send Hillary and Bill home to Chattauqua, and he and his comrades will overrun the Winter Palace, er, the White House.

It’s not about Donald Trump anymore. It’s about freedom vs. a socialist dictatorship. Donald Trump and his 65% unfavorable rating cannot win the White House, so only Ted Cruz or John Kasich can save us. When will Republicans wake up?

“Anyone who still wonders why nobody likes this a**hole, just take a lesson. He may be the brainy one but as a human being he sucks big time.”

In law school he boasted of having a 150 IQ, sort of like some in high school boasted of anatomical measurements.

Give him the 150 IQ, for argument’s sake. He was in law school. Allegedly an elite law school. That is sort of like going to a gun show and bragging about your awesome 9mm.

Supposition of the “democratic” vote which a candidate could be “said to be” carrying is by poll taking— upon which would not put too much faith.

Being from the South, understand quite well how many registered democrats vote repub in the general. As to whether that could be uniformly applied to other states.... well, it remains to be seen.

There are legions of conservatives who are in the democrat registry who can be tapped— whose party has left them.

And no, not one wanting to anoint someone for or like Romney. Please keep in mind who, of the old bull repubs has come out FOR Trump.

imho- Trump and Cruz should come to agreement and shut down the a-holes who think they can nominate whomever they like. without regard to primaries, which is an insult.

Kasich should just get freaking lost. What a maroon, and pile of jello.

Excellent post . I agree with all of it.

Cruz is a despicable lying con man. And Cruz is no American but was born in Canada. He's a Canadian and fooled many Texans and conservatives . Incredible. Hope Trump can pull it off and keep this Manchurian (Canadian) from the nomination as all the world establishment wants Cruz and to stop Trump because Trump is for we the people ,America and freedom.

So very true. Of all the vices, this is one which is the most easily manipulated, along with anger.

If Cruz is so damn smart why isn’t he winning?

That’s an easy one. Cruz told us himself the answer. The voters are stupid.

Yes, I remember Adlai Stevenson very well as I worked on Eisenhower’s reelection team. We soundly defeated Stevenson for the second time.

“Arrogance” is a word often misused when someone labels a person who is simply confident. Trump is supremely confident, but is not really arrogant. On the other hand, Cruz is not self confident and covers his fears with arrogance, assuming an air of superiority in everything he does. He has never been well liked, even when he was in school because he hides his insecurities behind his “holier than thou” attitude. Nothing is a greater giveaway than his “pregnant pauses” when he speaks.

Palestine usually refers to:
Palestine (region), a geographical and historical region in the Middle East
State of Palestine, a modern, partially recognized, state in the Middle East
“Palestinian territories”, or “occupied Palestinian territories”, terms referring to the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip which are occupied or otherwise under the control of Israel Palestinian National Authority, also known as the Palestinian Authority, an interim self-government body established in 1994 to govern parts of the territories. Since 2013, the Palestinian National Authority is officially referred to as the State of Palestine by most international organisations.

...an eventual agreement between Israel and Palestine.

That’s what Cruz pointed out in his speech. There’s been no country of Palestine since 1948. .....So why are so many here berating Cruz and calling him a liar for stating the truth?

I just watched Trump on CNN.

He talked about Nato and how we are taken advantage of by the likes of Germany. I couldn’t agree with him more. Germany lives in the shadow of the Soviet gun, yet it is largely American soldiers and equipment that allows them to live safely and spend more of their money on their citizens instead of the military.

It a shame that we have so many senior citizens living check to check, while Germany’s seniors live a life of no worry. I’m tired of Republican politicians checking off all the boxes they think we care about; telling us we have to protect these rich countries.

Trump is the only Republican to have the guts to challenge this type of thinking.
