There were Pershing II AND cruise missiles in the 1980s.

I remember because of the nuclear freeze movement.

Due to hypersonic missiles, boost phase defense will become ever more important.

Article V is toothless without both offensive and defensive capabilities.

These anti-Cruz types LIE and LIE and LIE. This is probably the nastiest lie I have seen ever on Free Republic.

Cruz pointed out the irony that Trump just talked about not supporting NATO which is based in Brussels.

In what sense could this possibly be trying blame Trump for the attacks? This sort of lie is EXACTLY what Obama and Clinton did with Bengazi when they claimed it was a spontaneous thing in response to a video. How could Trump’s comments the day before impact a pre-planned attack? The answer is they could not.

Not only that, but Trump’s comments were not supportive of NATO. So why would his comments suggesting less US involvement in NATO motivate terrorists to attack Belgium. The answer: they would not.

Of course logic and reason, and basic honesty and integrity are all out the window with guys like this. He’s been on Free Republic for 6 months, and he spent all 6 months bashing the most conservative, pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitution, pro-self-defense, pro-states-rights, pro-religious liberty candidate in the race.

The irony Cruz is pointing out is that NATO should have more support, not less. This is obvious to anyone. I have never seen worse fabrications posted on this forum ever.

First they lie and claim Cruz blamed Trump for the BLM protestors. Now they lie and claim Cruz blamed Trump for the Belgium attacks. Nasty liars.

That speech of Cruz’s... shameful and despicable! He makes the Clintons look like decent people.

I writhe at how Obama has treated Great Britain. They have been good allies and we have until now been good allies in return. I would like to see America give some support to young Democracies (or Democratic Republics). Your kind heart does you credit but the countries in NATO are neither children that need us to support and coddle them nor are they our friends.

We may have fought with them against Japan but it was as equals. Since that time they have welshed on their responsibilities and worked against our interests and even against their own self interests. America is not required to be the world’s nanny at a cost of our soldier’s lives & limbs and to the wreck of our economy. These Nations are blatant in their disrespect of America. Our ability to defend ourselves is nearly spent. We do not need to shoulder the burdens of the world nor can we. That kind of thinking destroys both sides just like welfare does. Mutual respect and mutual self interest and honoring commitments is the path to National alliagances.
