What are they in their 90s??
At least the Beatles had the smarts to quit when their music was still great.
Mr Obama’s visit postponed the show this week. Unexpectedly no less.
And in London, some tickets were $1000 for their last tour. Way to treat your home country fans.
They all get paid $20 a month a Cuba, apart from a few necessary elite professionals. For instance top-performing doctors with two specialties may now earn as much as $804 per year.
So yeah, the concert would have to be free.
Pretty smart move to make the concert a free one. Cuba being communist, no one has any money to pay for tickets.
Was this supposed to be a secret? I have been hearing about the Concert ever since barky decided to go to Cuba and legitimize the Communist regime.
Well, since everyone’s poor there, it would have to be free I guess.
As I recall, one line from a Stones song had Mick singing, “I’m no Che Guevara.” I forget which song. I guess he thought Che was cool. Probably still does.
Our _resident will probably give them Air Farce 1 to fly them in and out. He will call it a donation to the cause by the American people.
As a side note, I think Cubans are more into Salsa than old rock and roll........
Is there modern hotels and restaurants in Cuba? I see some travel agency’s advertising a trip to Cuba. Can these tourist be so dumb they think it will be a modern and updated vacation spot?
Shouldn’t they have renamed the band to the “Rolling Wheelchairs” by now?
Really?
They could have done this at anytime in the last 50 years. They (Stones) are ALL British citizens that have no compunction to honor the US embargo terms.
Wankers!
yeah ....... that is what people earning $24/month need......
While the Stones shows free status simplified some matters -- neither the band, which has grossed around $400 million in touring since 2012, nor AEG is taking a profit -- the issue remained of how to pay for it. The group will be bringing 61 sea containers and a 747 freighter full of gear, as well as a 350-strong crew. We have to bring in literally everything, says Concerts West co-president John Meglen.

It better be free, because no one can pay for it.
On a different note, you’d think that the U.S. has quarantined Cuba for 50 years, but the truth is that Cuba can trade with anyone they want, except for us. So all of the “massive impact” of trade restrictions talk is B.S.

Let’s hope Keith doesn’t fall ill, the free medical program in Cuba is a killer.
Rolling Stones suck.
There are some bands where a little goes a long way. One or two songs and you’re good for a while. Rush. The Doors.
Rolling Stones are a bad where a few bars of a song are more than enough. Half a tune, and I’m good.
It’s not like they could make any money if they tried to sell tickets at the typical price.
