GOP elites line up behind Ted Cruz
Politico ^ | 3/23/2016 | ELI STOKOLS

Republican elders, desperate to stop Donald Trump, are increasingly convinced they would rather forfeit the White House than hand their party to the divisive Manhattan billionaire.

That’s why the party’s establishment is suddenly rallying behind Ted Cruz, a man they’ve long despised and who has little chance, in the view of many GOP veterans, of defeating Hillary Clinton on Election Day.

There it is, the truth. With all their bs polls saying Cruz can beat Hillary out there, I'm surprised this author let the truth slip.

Watch out what you wish for. If Obama had had Benghazi and e-mailgate wrapped around his neck Romney would be headed for his second term right now.

I hope someone takes a good picture of the look on Teds face when his new BFFs yank the rug out from under him too. And also one of his new 4x6 cubicle in the basement restroom when he returns to the Senate.

GOP elites line up behind Ted Cruz

They had to pick one of the two, and I guess they are less afraid of Cruz than they are of Trump.

This almost makes me want to support Trump, but in a "cut off my nose to spite my face" sort of way.

Yeah, I hate the establishment, but I really do think Cruz is the better choice. Trump will appoint Liberal and Moderate Judges. Cruz would appoint conservatives.

If only Romney would have fought as hard against Obama as he does against other Republicans. But I'd wager many of us here would still be clamoring for him to not get a second term.

That is a very good assessment of the situation. They want the corrupt gravy train to continue. With The Club For Growth now supporting Ted Cruz we now know for sure that Ted Cruz has gone over to the dark side.

Cruz will do what he's told to do.

Easy to control.

“in the view of many GOP veterans, of defeating Hillary Clinton on Election Day.”

So do you want to win, or do you want Hillary?

The GOPe wants Hillary

But you see what I’m saying? We’re not running against a black man, we’re up against an old woman who reminds most men in this country of their first wife. I could beat her in the general election if I was the Republican nominee and so could you.

Like his long time buddy John Roberts? No thanks.

“People think we lose with Cruz, but we don’t lose everything,” said the operative, who opposes Trump and asked to speak anonymously. “He’s still a real Republican. We don’t lose the House and Senate with Cruz. We don’t lose our soul as a party and we can recover in four years and I’m not sure people think we can recover from Donald Trump.”

To the GOPe, their soul is the public feed trough. I know they don't want to lose that!

The same polls, and there are a good number of these so-cal “bs” polls, say that Trump loses in a landslide to Clinton...

Let’s face it about two-thirds of the country think Trump is a jerk! Just an unfortunate fact!

Yes, yes it has.

Listen to his speeches and see the way he votes.

Does the exact opposite.

Controlled tool.
