Actually, you are drawing that line over the wrong object.

Properly expressed you should have started out, in light of the argument you presented, “Is this article supposed to impugn Muslims?”

This is because it is Muslim-in-America attitudes about Islamic Law that is being gauged, their self-professed assessment of what Islam requires of them, and not if their opinions on that subject of advancing Islamic Law are really accurate or not.

If you wish to protest that you cannot separate Muslims from Islam or Islam from Muslims, and leave Muslims saying they’re fine without Sharia (assuming they aren’t lying of course), then you have to demonstrate that those saying they would be wrong are themselves wrong, and that Islam doesn’t demand it be the only basis for laws anywhere and everywhere.

By contrast, all you have to prove by allowing for schisms in Islam over the matter of Islamic Law, without judging the validity of those schisms, is to simply acknowledge that they exist.

IOW, it’s a much easier row to hoe to rephrase the first sentence as I’ve done.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to delve into the validity of different stances over Islamic Law, how it should or shouldn’t be advanced in particular, just that for casual comments the above is a sound stance.

What per cent of black Americans would answer a poll that asks if folks should get away with cold-blooded murder? And yet we all saw their reaction when OJ got off.

Still water runs deep.

“Poll: 10% of American Muslims are willing to admit to normal American’s that they think Islam should be main source of American law.”

The title was wrong so I fixed it.

"For context, there are currently 3.3 million Muslims in the United States. If current population trends continue, the United States could be a Muslim-majority nation by mid-century."

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all God fearing Country loving couples who continue to limit the size of their families to the politically correct number of 1.5 children so mother earth is not over populated.

Moderate Muslims are the tall grass in which Jihadi Terrorists hide undisturbed.

My credo.

Use the door please. Anyone who doesn’t like our laws should live elsewhere.

I don’t find this surprising, or wrong if the country is supposed to base law from an ethics agnostic point of view. That is not possible though. People misunderstand, there’s a huge difference between the Church being in control of the State (”separation of Church and State”) and Judeo-Christian ethics having nothing to do with the types of laws we have, they absolutely do, at least historically. This is where the left goes wrong, they don’t think that there should be an influence on law from any religion. This is not possible without saying to 10’s of millions that they should not have their beliefs represented in the legislature.

So, does it surprise me that Muslims think that their ethics system, based in Islam and Sharia, should have an influence in our laws? Not at all, I think it is quite logical. There’s just one problem, Sharia and Judeo-Christian ethics are complete opposites. They are not compatible. This is the distinction many don’t understand and is why Islam can only be a problem for western cultures. I can’t be treated as a equal religion, if it is it will eventually take over and deny other religions to be equal.

So when I hear an atheist state that all religions are the same and equally problematic, etc. etc., all they’re doing is showing an extreme level of ignorance in differences between ethics systems. They also don’t undrstand, therefore, the only thing standing between them and an Islamic death is a Christian. Yet, Christians are easy to demonize and they’re too scared to do the same with Muslims, seemingly without realizing it and what that means.

Anyhow...this highlights the general problem with having a Muslim population. They have every right to think their ethics system, derived from Sharia, should be represented in the legislature. This is also the very reason we shouldn’t import them. You’re just importing a problem.

To support Perry is to support Islam, because that has been his record..

The unanswered question is whether Perry is a willing advocate for Islam, or merely ignorant of its danger.

Submitting to a fanatical beheading cult does not have significantly different consequences whether done through intent or ignorance, and nobody who could remain ignorant while making a move so bitterly debated and opposed is bright enough to be safely granted political authority.

And that my friends is from Muslims who have come to the freest country in the world for religions of all types and stripes—but have no desire to assimilate and give the same freedom privileges to other religions.
