Rubio moves to keep delegates on lockdown until convention, to 'stop Trump'

Marco Rubio is moving to lock down his delegates until the Republican convention so no one else can claim them just yet, in an unconventional move that represents the latest bid to stall Donald Trump’s front-running campaign – and perhaps give the Florida senator and ex-candidate a bigger role to play in July.

A Rubio spokesman confirmed the push Wednesday, while suggesting it’s more an effort to thwart Trump by denying him the necessary delegates than to somehow get Rubio back in the game in the event of a contested convention.

"Of course, he's no longer a candidate and wants to give voters a chance to stop Trump," spokesman Alex Burgos told FoxNews.com.

I believe that Rubio SUSPENDED his campaign & didn’t TERMINATE it. So his delegates remain “bound” to him.

It wouldn’t possibly have anything to do with trading the delegates for something or to get himself votes on the second vote at the convention. Just to “stop Trump:.

it is so amazing to me .....FINALLY ! we have a person who is NOT a politician , who has broad popular support , who is self funding , who clearly loves America and will do all kinds of amazing things in the securing and assisting the prospering of it ....and ‘they’ are coming out of the woodwork to STOP HIM!
I have to assume that America is suffering a bad case of a-hole-itis . The dips#its are trying to run us into oblivion...
I say : to hell with the politicians and the lawyers , and all the jealous, envious ,nattering naybobs of negativism and let’s elect this guy , by a vast landslide . And get out there and kick some ass . Seriously ....
To me , we have come to the end of the road . It’s time to choose , or vanish . Into the darkness of national demise .
It’s also time to outlaw both the democrat party and redefine Islam as a cult , not a religion . It’s time for the United States military ( All combined forces) to start overtly backing the clear patriots and stop with this neutered , politically correct namby-pamby BS . America needs to strap it’s balls back on and get down to business . Ready? Let’s roll ....

“It wouldn’t possibly have anything to do with trading the delegates for something or to get himself votes on the second vote at the convention. Just to “stop Trump:.”

I think you broke the code —that is how he envisions “stopping Trump”: substituting himself as GOP nominee. But there is no chance of that happening. In this respect both Rubio and Cruz are delusional, holding onto false hope that the GOPe raised for them.

When in fact the GOPe is in bed with the Democrats for a Hillary presidency.

Maybe if Trump held out his hand for Cruz to take it, Cruz can pledge all his delegates to Trump, drop out with grace and let Trump carry the anti-establishment ball across the goal line.

With 90% of the delegates pledged to these two, there is nothing the RNC can do to stop them.

Mebbe Jimmy Carter can get the North Koreans to be convention observers to help assure majority rule principles continue to be applied in this manner.

Stop Trump ? What happened to the most popular vote getting candidate getting the nomination ? Have the rules of democracy changed ? Only the highest vote getter wins if we like him ?

Well if Cruz can steal delegates in LA, maybe Trump could just purchase them outright.

Marco has to be right. Impossible for him to realize he was whuuped in his home state. He may retire and never admit this. Some losers are always loser. Marco could walk away from this and revitalize his career but know. He wants to double down on losing. Trump was right he is a little man.

It sure is hard to find anyone to trust in this election...pundits, commentators, etc. Not even Rush half the time, not even Levin...pisses me off.

Rush and Levin are out of the closet. They are Bush people. When someone tells who they are believe them. I wish it wasn’t so but I believe them. We were conned move on.

Problem is, there isn’t anything to “move onto”...meaning, listening to someone talk and believe the way I did was comforting...

So much fear of Trump. Trump makes the average politician of the last 30 years look inadequate.
