He is damaged. He's far from the perfect candidate. I'd rather have Cruz any day of the week. But he has the most delegates.

If the GOPe screws both of them over, and all of us, and everyone who voted for Trump and Cruz, I would openly advocate for the two of them to form a ticket, with Trump in the top spot and Cruz as VP, since Trump has the most support, and make a third party run.

I think if we could all quit the general dumb-assery we have all displayed here and unite against the true enemy, the GOPe, there would be enough votes to win the general.

There are members of the, how to say this, Democrat persuasion floating out there as casual visitors. And some paying visits are not so casual....perhaps their party has left them and they feel adrift?

For those willing to consider the state of affairs applying to both parties, temporarily set aside partisan instincts and take a cold-hearted look at how political parties behave once your vote is in their hands.

That vote is a place marker for sporting purposes, a bragging point when they get together to divvy up the spoils. Neither party’s interest in the voter exceeds what’s good for the party, and on that basis endows or withholds it’s favors to candidates in an election.

Trump’s appeal from one viewpoint is the “Not part of the club” schtick, thus not owing party favors. He has vast experience dealing with politicians of every persuasion, evidenced by a financial success dependent on skill in navigating infested waters.

Another consideration is that he has decided to encumber himself with the mantle of the presidency, an often thankless position, motivated by his apprehension for the country. The wealthy have more choices when facing adversity; yet, he has chosen not to retire from the field, but rally the people anew to claim our place within the world.

Those people with belief in the country, whatever their past affiliation, will find a hearty welcome as part of the movement toward national eminence. Set aside your past differences, all come together, and rouse our county to stand great once more.
