Dawne Massey, NOPD spokeswoman, said the 9-year-old was apprehended by police near the Riverwalk and World Trade Center, but was released to his mother's custody because he is younger than 10 – the state's minimum age of culpability.

Two years ago a 12 or 13 year old was riding around on his bike and robbing people at gun point.

This is why my heart has hardened to the point that if I read that one of these young guys gets gunned down I really don't care.

You’re not alone.

That person robbed at gunpoint could just as easily be you or me. I have a family to support. So do you most likely.

I have “Zero Tolerance” for these episodes.
