Well you are right its more expensive so now we are container and raised bed gardening and buying high quality meat and now Mr. GG2 is putting the finishing touches on my chicken coop and we will be eating our own organic cage free eggs. Tonight we have a nice kale and swiss chard salad out of our garden and a high quality chicken on the grill with red potatoes out of our potato buckets. Its fresher and tastes better than from the store. And its fun to garden and raise animals.

“we’re not out there hunting, hoeing a garden, harvesting, canning, and preparing food.”

I do all that with the exception of hunting, Maybe that is why I am 5ft 5 inches and weigh 106.

We’re just hurrying up and eating everything we can before Moochelle and the food nazis ban them.

Good one. Ehrlich’s doomsday nonsense was written five decades ago, but liberals are never held accountable for their insanity.

My grocery bill more than doubled when I started eating healthy.

If you really want to eat healthy, and have astromonical grocery bills, I believe Gweneth Paltrow's healthy living cookbook has some bland recipes with expensive ingredients.

At least from what I remember of a review of same a few years ago.

This is argument for un agenda 21. “Mass production of food is unsustainable.”

Those “chilrun” are just so accustomed to so many calories, they’re always hungry ....

My son, the doctor, said he has NEVER had anyone brought to the ER because he was starving to death.

The “diet” fanatics can just kiss Twinkie’s ample butt.
She is 185 lbs.. wish it was less; but have to eat what
is available. Can’t afford all that “organic” stuff &
special stuff. - Twinkie was trim when she was young; but
the past couple or three years have been . . different.

Only American liberals can tell us how the poor are suffering both from obesity and hunger....with a straight face.

This can only be fixed through global food production and central planning! Everyone on earth would be skinny.

We're suffering from a demographic winter. As there are more older people around without younger people to replace them, we're having an older population on earth and will necessarily be fatter.

I agree with you that we're in the midst of a demographic iner, especially in Japan, the EU, and the Anglosphere.

But I don't think an ageing population necessarily means a fatter population. Serious question: are the Japanese fat?

Yeah. Maybe the Asian diet is that much better.

Keep a big container in your fridge of chopped purple cabbage, green cabbage and broccoli. All cheap vegetables, all low cal, high fiber, high vitamins. Douse with balsamic salad dressing and dig into it whenever you want an instant salad.

Couldn't be better for you or less expensive.

When I go to the supermarket and the checkout girl says, “ Do you want to donate a dollar to fight hunger?”, I say to her, No, I want to do what I can to stop obesity.”

Excessive consumption of sugar will cause metabolic syndrome regardless of how much you eat, but when you think of sugar, don’t just think of what you add to tea, coffee, etc or sugary soft drinks. ALL carbohydrate converts to sugar rapidly including the “healthy” whole grains. Carbohydrates need to come from low-carb vegetables and minimal fruit.

Starchy foods, if you eat them, should be no more than an occasional treat. The problem is that for too many people, it’s difficult to stop at one moderate helping because of the effect on the blood sugar

“Excessive consumption of sugar will cause metabolic syndrome regardless of how much you eat”

I only recently read that metabolic syndrome can be caused by excessive sugar consumption in a food-rich environment, and this is the first time I’ve heard that the consumption of food is not necessarily a factor.

Do you know of a good article on the subject?
