Take it to the literal bank. If there is one after they let the bottom fall out.

“they did everything possible to sabotage Bush.”

The did everything possible to sabotage the country.

Bush wasn’t running in 2008.

Trump sounds like one of the Goldline-sponsored idiots like Beck or “Tyler Durden.” Dow 20,000 by year end.

The mortgage market that had been driving the US economy since 2001 topped out well over a year before.

The enormous number of high risk loans that had been issued during the bubble were defaulting and in mid 2008 they finally caught up with Bear Stearns, which was the most heavily leveraged of all the players in the CDO market.

Bear and the other big players in high risk debt had been like Wiley Coyote, suspended in space over the Grand Canyon. The only surprise is that the collapse didn’t begin as much as a year sooner.

Saw part of a discussion on C-span the other night- walked in, TV was on, so not sure what the show was, or all the participants. It was kind of a q & a format about the impending economic collapse, and then, step by step, it went into what sector would go, negative interest rates.. It was this worsening horror story, like dominoes falling as they progressed through a worsening scenario.

I felt like they were forecasting a collapse like Argentina and, yes, I felt afraid as they pointed out all the indicators that we are on a downward trajectory.

“Me? I’ll be raising chickens and goats, growing Quinoa, Lentils and Black Currants, and distilling my own cask-aged “Medicine” for local consumption.”

Sounds like you’ve learned some valuable skills. Kudos.

Do you actually believe we can “Make America Great Again” without pain and everyone having some skin in the game?

There is no contradiction if you read the article instead of skimming just the headline.

[“I’m pessimistic,” Trump said. “Unless changes are made. Changes could be made.”

By Trump, for instance: “I can fix it. I can fix it pretty quickly.”]

Save. Save cash. Pay cash for your home. Drive a beater for less than a grand. Insure only for liability and uninsured motorists. Pay for your own kids college in cash. No loans. Use an American Express card only. A dairy goat, chickens, bee hive, small fruit orchard, and a 40 x 80 garden pretty much lets you say eff you to the righteous rulers and bankers.

Mr. Smooth Talker/Cool Guy/Has All The Answers/Preezy of the United Steezy.

LOL. But you left out a couple of items:

"... near 100% conservative voting record in the Senate (second only to Senator Mike Lee who endorsed him), Constitutional scholar , authored 70 U.S. Supreme Court briefs and presented nine oral arguments before the United States Supreme Court.

Plus the biggie: "Never had his own TV show".

I didn’t believe Obama’s portents of “doom and gloom” unless he was elected, and I don’t believe Trump’s, either. Appeals to fear are the primary tools of demagogues.

Maybe I misunderstood his statement. It didn’t seem like a positive for him, but he said it because it’s true. Is it not? I do agree with your position on fear mongering as false. It just seems that what he said seems likely.
