Cruz turns to GOP convention rule to keep Kasich from nabbing nomination

Sen. Ted Cruz is making the case that GOP presidential rival John Kasich and his pesky campaign cannot win the party nomination unless he has top showings in eight states -- an argument that could help Cruz in the upcoming Wisconsin primary and the GOP White House race.

Cruz in recent interviews has repeatedly cited a Republican National Committee rule that states candidates can be nominated only if they've won the total delegate majority in eight or more states, as reported first by The Washington Post.

Trump has 736 pledged delegates, followed by Cruz with 463, then Kasich with 143 -- with 1,237 needed to secure the nomination.

Here’s a new flash for lying Ted - he can’t win the nomination either unless he gets 80% of the remaining delegates. And, if he thinks he will win on a 2nd ballot, he’s so full of himself. They’ll use him, then dump his lying, cheating a**.

There is absolutely no possible way that Cruz can win the 1237 delegates, so KaSICKO, who is also staying in just to be a "spoiler" doesn't have to leave now.

Besides which, these rules were put into place by the Romney team. LOL

Poor, poor Teddy, he's delusional! He NEVER should even been allowed to throw his hat into this ring, because he isn't a NBC!

Well, Ted isn’t on the side of Americans, that’s for sure. He is the 4th Bush - people don’t understand this. Poppy, (GHW Bush, helped him get the Solicitor General position in Texas. He and the Bushes go way back, he’s a GOPE pretending to be an outsider and conservative.

The effect of the Rule of Eight will be to limit the delegates choice to either Devious Donald or Truthful Ted, presuming Cruz prevails in eight states.

This will smoke Devious Donald out, will he unite with Truthful Ted to oppose any alteration of the rule or will he let the rule be amended unopposed so he can bolt the party and bring down everyone else even more certainly than he will otherwise do if he runs as a Republican in the general election.

If Cruz and Trump present a united front against changing the rule, it will be difficult for the establishment to do so. It will require these two to fight it out between themselves on subsequent ballots. This way the rule that a majority, 1237, must be obtained will be observed but it will be limited to the two candidates who have garnered the lion share of the primary vote.

The trouble with Devious Donald is that he has already stated that the rule requiring a majority should be relaxed in his favor but he opposes amending the rule to require a supermajority. Thus showing once again that Devious Donald, if he has ethics at all, has situational ethics.

I think Devious Donald has a nice ring to it and should be liberally applied until Trump bots refrain from slandering Cruz with, "lyin Ted."

He’s such a fool that he doesn’t even know that he’s a tool. Or he’s complicit

Cruz is only concerned with his ambition. As if his ineligibility is not enough he has humiliated and disgraced his wife, all to serve his ambition.

He’s a lying jerk. An NAU servant.

I have no doubt that the GOP lap dogs will promote the lying ineligible Cruz. Bring it. Bring it all you FR GOP fools. Bring it. Vote for your GOP NAU Globalist Cruz. Expect change, retard. YOU are the problem.

I think that you are something that I'd get a time time out, if I posted it.

LITTLE LYING TEDDY BARE isn't going to get a chance to play any games, since Trump IS going to have the required 8 states and at least the 1237 delegates; end of story.

Coniving Cruz isn't going to be the nominee; just get over it and there shan't be any buddying up between the two.

Corrupt Cruz is a very arrogant, avaricious, petulant, puerile, do and say ANYTHING to get what he wants POS. He's also stupid.

I'm sure that someone in the GOPE has promised him something, but it certainly isn't the presidency, which he shan't EVER get.

The question remains unanswered: Will you and Trump support the rule of eighths if Trump does not get 1237 votes going in and Cruz does get eight states?

I know this is hard, but the possibility of this scenario is real and you can work with it if you choose to rather than simply dismiss it and bluster on.

Since Trump SHALL get the 1237 and a bit more, probably, I don't have to even think about it.

Will Crusty Cruz abide by the rules? It doesn't sound like he shall from what he and his camp have been whinging about lately.

Why doesn’t Cruz agree with Trupm to make it you have to win the majority of delegates in at least 20 states.

I don't have to even think about it.

That sounds like a Trump's position on so many issues like abortion. Why do Trump supporters ape their hero when it is so unbecoming?

Afraid to tell us where you stand?

Will Crusty Cruz abide by the rules? It doesn't sound like he shall from what he and his camp have been whinging about lately.

You have the situation reversed, it is Devious Donald who is practicing situational ethics on rules and Cruz who is calling for them to be a upheld. It is Trump who is been whingeing to the point of petulance.
