You're absolutely right! It is the natural progression of imagined consequence-free hedonism. Little do they realize that along with this living for pleasure lifestyle, any respect for other people's lives and rights are sacrificed on the altar of self. Only when the hedonist becomes the victim, does the utter futility and emptiness get realized - if it ever does.
