A unanimous Supreme Court ruled Monday that illegal immigrants and other non-citizens can be counted when states draw their legislative districts, shooting down a challenge by Texas residents who said their own voting power was being diluted.
The ruling does not grant non-citizens power to vote, but says the principle of one person, one vote doesnt require localities to only count those who are actually eligible to vote.
Justice Ruth Baden Ginsburg, writing for the court, said even though only eligible voters are supposed to cast ballots, elected officials represent all people within their districts, and it is that act of representation, not the election itself, that the boundaries are drawn to.

Clear power grab by GOPe in BushCo country.
These are the people fighting Trump, so what do you expect?
Supreme Court was UNANIMOUS! Very rare, indeed. Read it.
Current voters should be the only standard, but it won’t be.
US Citizens should be the next fallback standard.
When stationed in Germany, I didn’t expect their local representatives to my advocate in their government.
They probably could never imagine the scum we have had in charge the last few decades, who allowed this invasion.
This is the same system used to destroy South Africa and install a communist regime.
Flood the country with outsiders and bus them in to vote.
In reality I believe illegals do have representation.
Look at the Congress critters who cater to illegal alien activists, La Raza jerks, etc. and some of these Reps even join their rallies.
Doesn’t this actually give the people that are allowed to vote in high illegal alien districts more power?
If the illegals lived among voting Republicans that would be great for us. But we all know that isn’t the case.
This is a recipe, nay, encouragement for abuse and corruption. We are finished.
Are we there yet? Yes, in certain parts of the country. Houston has a HUGE muslim population and most of Mexico is now living in parts of the city, particularly the southwest part. Sheila Jackson Lee’s constituents are moving to the suburbs and school board elections seem to include at least one Black and one Hispanic among the candidates. Fortunately there are no known muslim candidates yet in our suburbs.
One of the broadcasters was talking during the Final 4 tournament and commented that Houston was among the most ethnically diverse city they had ever seen. And then we add the huge LGTB population in - not much room for old white folks.
PING!!

So why not everyone in China, too?
That has nothing to do with the influence of illegal aliens. It has everything to do with the open-borders globalists who pour money into political campaigns all over this country.
I don’t care about ethnicity. I do care about foreigners influencing our government.
Ping!
Unanimous decision? Clarence Thomas voted for this? Ouch.
we are back to the rotten boroughs... which is where liberal reform of election boundaries started
When you think about it, this would make homosexual couples the least powerful people in the U.S. in terms of representation.

Instead, they live in areas that would be voting heavily for Democrats anyway -- often in areas dominated by blacks.
“A unanimous ....”
Oh joy...
They got it right. Modern culture has been corrupted to view the principle of universal suffrage as a "good" ideal to strive for.
Honestly this is the first time you can actually blame slavery, because that’s likely why it was written like that.
In my view it does. Districts that have large numbers of illegal aliens are bound to have influence on Reps.
