Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Tuesday that she met with President Barack Obamas Supreme Court nominee Judge Merrick Garland, and she is more convinced than ever that the process should proceed despite the GOP leaderships assertion that the next president should nominate the next Supreme Court justice.
Ive just concluded a more than hour-long meeting with Judge Garland. It was an excellent meeting that allowed us to explore many of the issues that I would raise with any nominee to the Supreme Court as well as some of the criticisms that have been levied against him. The meeting left me more convinced than ever that the process should proceed, Collins told reporters on Capitol Hill.

At least the other one from Maine is gone.
Anyway, I'd imagine that McConnell has given dispensation to some vulnerable Senators to say what they need to try to hold on to their seats. That's an old trick the Dems have used effectively for a long time -- let your vulnerable candidates oppose the party on issues you have locked up so they can save their seats. As long as McConnell has enough votes to kill the nomination, that's all that ultimately matters.
Wake up little Susie. Now is not the time to go wobbly on us. We’re talking the Bill of Rights here. Something your boy doesn’t believe in.
I'm sure she did a very thorough analysis of the "many" complex issues in the one hour she met with him. She's the most liberal Republican in the Senate. I bet they spent most of the time discussing mutual acquaintances and Washington gossip.
Maybe we should give Maine back to the Indians.
GOPe!
Is she up for reelection? I know Kirk (R?-IL) met with Garland and Kirk is up for reelection.
Susan, Garland’s gun views are not compatible with Maine’s.
When will Aunt Esmerelda ever retire?
Another Republican turd that needs to be flushed!
“Maybe we should give Maine back to the Indians.”
NO, we should do that for the entire Eastern Seaboard from VA northward ( Include PA as well).
Republicans like the Maine twins, Scott Brown, etc., can be really annoying for conservatives. But the truth is that a stronger conservative has no chance in their state. And in case anyone forgets, every single Republican Senator, including the RINO's, voted against the Stimulus. Every single one of them voted against Obamacare.
Better to have those votes sometimes, rather than never.
At least the other one from Maine is gone. And replaced by someone who supports Harry Reid for majority leader. That’s the problem.
You don’t seem to notice that Collins is supporting Obama here. LOL.
“Is she up for reelection? I know Kirk (R?-IL) met with Garland and Kirk is up for reelection.”
No, unfortunately she’s good until 2020. When you see these people, you realize that the GOP doesn’t really have a decent majority to do anything. I’d be for letting the RATS have these seats because we give away everything we believe in when we allow them to be Republicans. Then again, we have McConnell, so WTF does it matter!
Yeah, I noticed that numbnuts. That's why I said this was annoying for conservatives. Or did you miss that?
My point is that she's with us sometimes, and against us others. Like now. But the problem is that if we get rid of her, we'll just get a real Democrat who will caucus with them and be even worse on issues. The option to elect a Jeff Sessions or Mike Lee from Maine does not exist.
But...say, don't you still owe me the quotes and post numbers to back up the lies you made in another thread? You know, when you accused me of saying things I never said, then repeatedly refused to point to the quote or post to back up your claim? Yeah, that was you. How can you even look in the mirror to shave in the morning? Unless, uh, you just shave your legs in the morning, in which case I suppose you don't need a mirror.
Susan Collins is a glittering reminder why the Founding Fathers denied women the vote, and elective office.
She determined the corporate lobbyists that support the GOPe are fine with the pick.
Not necessary. Just go back to Founding Principles. Women’s suffrage needs to receive severe scrutiny.

When are progressive Republicans EVER with conservatives on the big issues? NEVER. Listen to what they say and do. To paraphrase Paul Ryan: “This is who we are”.
