Vigilance to do exactly what?
To prison-keep and never uplift?
We might as well have resigned ourselves to having a presence of nothing but hell on earth.
Vigilance to protect our liberty against all comers.
One aspect of protecting liberty is educating those ignorant of it, to convert enemies into allies and reduce threats to that liberty.
Take courage, and do not let your enemies wear down your will to live as a free man. Live as you will and defy those who would have you bend your knee!
