Gingrich: ‘Odds Are Better Than Even Money’ That Trump Will Get the Delegates Needed Before the Convention

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicted Republican presidential front-runner would more likely than not get the needed 1,237 delegates required to secure the GOP’s presidential nomination before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this July...

"When Cruz is running third, this is — I had not thought about this coming out of Wisconsin candidly because Kasich is doing a little better than people expected. Cruz is doing worse than people expected.”

“What it does is it’s very hard to argue you are the key alternative when you are in third place...”

Ted is mind numbingly stupid sometimes. It's political suicide. He actually tweeted this. It's as brain dead stupid as Obama's 57 states perfidy. As long as this is par for the coure yes Trump is on track to 1237;

65K Coloradans voted--they just voted against Trump. That's 11 elections in a row we've won.

The same Gingrich who balanced the budget, won the first Republican House, and came closest to actually unending the media, the establishment, and Mitt Romney.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have Trump’s money.

Newt is 80/20 at best but he’s been right about Trump from the start. Love NY or hate it, its a huge state with lots of delgates. Any candidate who wants to be potus better do good in Texas,Calif,NY,Fla. and a few other key states or hang it up.Cruz is 50% at best.

I watched the Cruz interview with Hannity yesterday. He said that there were “11 election in 4 states over the last month, and I won them all.” He went on to say that there were 7 district conventions, and 4 state conventions. That’s how he managed to get the “11 elections” he was talking about.

Cruz is becoming more unhinged every day. His entire interview with Hannity was a continuous rant about Trump. I haven’t heard him actually talk about any issues other than Trump, in the last several weeks.

Ted's stuck in a reactive mode instead of being proactive. He's NOT controlling the narrative. Trump is controlling Ted's narrative - playing him like a cheap violin. It's amazing to watch.

That is what I noticed as well. Maybe in the last month just being against Trump was enough. The problem is his cheater image has only been reinforced by hos recent activities and ranting about Trump doe nothing to get his message out.

This Newt:

The Republican Revolution or Gingrich Revolution refers to the Republican Party success in the 1994 U.S. midterm elections, which resulted in a net gain of 54 seats in the House of Representatives, and a pickup of eight seats in the Senate.

Rather than campaigning independently in each district, Republican candidates chose to rally behind a single national program and message fronted by Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich.

Republicans gaining control of both the House and the Senate in January 1995. Republicans had not held the majority in the House for forty years, since the 83rd Congress (elected in 1952).

Tump may get the delegates, but the trajectory has leveled off and I suspect that he may get close, but not over.

We’ll see. It’s been very unpredictable up to now.

I love Newt. He was my choice in 2012, but I hope to G*d he’s wrong on this one. 4 years of Hillary and the USSC lost for a generation is a pretty high price to pay for indulging a narcissist’s ego trip.

That's because the anti-Trump GOP elite have picked Cruz to pummel Trump to limit his total delegates before the convention. Cruz can't win 1237 but he can limit Trump's totals.

Cruz may think the establishment is throwing their support behind him now that Rubio is out of the picture. But I think the GOP is just using Cruz as a place holder to help defeat Trump and then they can bring in their own inside guy on one of the subsequent convention ballots.

If the GOP mucky-mucks don't want either of these guys, then neither of them will not get the nomination. It'll turn out to be someone none of us want, like it usually is.
