Heck, our leftists in the US go about the same task, tearing down western civilization at an incredible clip. Banning speech and “offensive” ideas on campus, tearing down crosses and statues, renaming colleges and buildings due to the sins of long dead patrons. Interestingly, eBay banned the sale of confederate flag merchandise (The Dukes of Hazard must go!) but will gladly allow the sale of an Isis flag.

We are heading towards a world wide open conflict and there is NOTHING anybody can do about it. Might not happen this year or next, but China and Russia are positioning themselves to get a head start. They destroy this stuff for the same reason that the Arabs finished off the Library of Alexandria: If it is not in the Koran it is unnecessary and probably blasphemous. If it is in the Koran, then it is superfluous.
IN this case, since the ruins, statues, etc., are from a period before Mohammed, they are unnecessary and probably blasphemous, so it should be destroyed. The fact that offends the kaffirs is just an added bonus.
