Listen: Cruz Welcomes the Prospect of 4-4 SCOTUS Immigration Split
Conservative Review ^ | 04/18/16 | Nate Madden

Ted Cruz would welcome a tie vote at the Supreme Court ending President Obama’s executive amnesty programs, according to an interview with Conservative Review on Monday.

Initial reports from the oral arguments for United States v. Texas, hailed by many as the most important immigration case in a century, suggest that the court might come down to a 4-4 tie, which would uphold the Fifth Circuit Court’s decision and effectively ending Obama’s 2014 “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” and “Deferred Action for Parents of Americans” (DACA and DAPA) programs.

“Well this is one of many cases where there’s a real likelihood that there’s a 4-4 split, Justice Scalia’s passing has left the court perilously imbalanced,” Cruz explained to CR Monday after a rally in Towson, Maryland. “I’m gratified in this instance, that means the fifth circuit decision would be upheld, that enjoins president Obama’s illegal amnesty.”

I’m afraid that Constitution-hating, commie bastard, Roberts, is going to go with the ‘RAT activists on the “court”.

“Ted Cruz would welcome a tie vote at the Supreme Court ending President Obama’s executive amnesty programs”

Well, yeah, anyone who doesn’t like Obama’s dictatorial usurpation of the Constitution would welcome it because a tie means the lower court ruling stands.

Has Cruz ever said anything about impeaching Obama? As an elected representative of the people, sworn to uphold the Constitution and obligated to defend the Constitution?

The Supremes just so happy that they have a President now to write and change our laws/legislation so the Justices no longer have to. Then force the Congress to ensure they get Executed.

Trump has:

He says impeachment is a bad idea and he is opposed.

I think the author is only half right. This will halt DAPA, but will not halt DACA, which has been illegally legalizing illegal aliens since 2012.
If we had an opposition party they would have sued in court the next day for an injunction like the states did with DAPA.
Instead, he is still legalizing illegal aliens illegally.
Because no one sued to stop him for DACA.

“You guys already yell at him for closing down the gov’t”

Who are “you guys”? “You guys” is a Yankeeism that I hope stays that way.

And he did not really shut down the government.

“He says impeachment is a bad idea and he is opposed.”

You mean in the final year or two of his term? Of course, but Cruz has been up their since ‘12.

Not that it would amount to anything, but his deal with Obamacare was useless from the start, and that did not stop him.

“Cruz shut down the federal government.”

You mean for a few hours? More than a weekend or holiday?

“What has Trump done?”

In case you haven’t noticed, Trump is not a government official.

He does make promises, but who has accomplished more, Cruz or Trump?

I believe that if the court returns a 4-4 or 5-3 decision Obama will declare the decision invalid because the republicans held up his nomination to replace Scalia.

He will plow ahead with his unilateral amnesty program and no one will do a thing to stop him.
