Trump’s Right That The GOP Primary Is Unfair . . .
FiveThirtyEight ^ | APR 14, 2016 | HARRY ENTEN

Donald Trump has a point. (Yes, you read that correctly.) After getting shut out at the Colorado conventions, Trump has been complaining that the Republican primary process is undemocratic and rigged.

Ted Cruz is pretty much done. I'll refer you to this reply about one of the last to get out in the last Republican primary.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3422732/posts?page=10#10

The only reason for Cruz to stay in is to help the corrupt GOP establishment try to get this to a candidate they can support, screw the will of the people.

Clinton will lose (big) to Trump.

Not if his negatives stay in the 60’s and the base isn’t all shored up.

The electoral map favors the democrats right out of the gate. Not saying he won’t/can’t win. But it will greatly depend what he does after the nomination

So Clinton and Trump both have 100% name recognition, both have high negatives among voters. Clinton has led Trump nationally in 44 straight polls with an average difference of 9%, how does that equal a Trump landslide?

Can I get some of what you are smoking?

Thanks for posting.

From the article:

“The irony, however, is that Trump has benefited from this imbalance.”

I wouldn’t call it irony. Some P. T. Barnum quotes come to mind.

You got that right. I loved Cruz’ statement today on Hannity the it is not his fault Trump can’t organize a lemonade stand.

I wonder what Trump’s negatives would be had the GOP-e not invested so much time, effort, and money into attacking him. If only a fraction of that had been directed at Clinton, things might look a lot different right now.

How much time and effort did Trump invest in sliming Cruz and the party?

It is one thing when the candidates slime each other; happens every election. Quite another when one of the parties slimes one of its own candidates.

This is why Cruz needs to stand down, and throw in with Trump.

Cruz won’t win. But he might very well mess this up.

I don’t know what Ted’s plan is here. If Ted manages to secure a contested convention, does he really believe the powers-that-be are going to hand the nomination to him? Kasich maybe. Probably more likely Mittens or even ¡Yeb!

None of whom, will win.

Nobody will. Trump however will win the presidency.

Unless the GOP screws this up, like they all appear to be wanting very much to do.

It is disgusting, watching what is happening.

Trump 60.5% 519K votes
Hillary 58% 1037K votes
Bernie 42.1% 753K votes

Dems outnumber Reps in NY by approx. 2-1 according to NYT 6/13/12

proportionally, Hillary needed 1039K votes to beat Trump, she was 2 shy.

Hillary’s toast.

I think Trump will continue to finish off Cruz, and once that objective has been achieved, he will focus on the GOPe.

If you think Trump was tough on the last 16 suits, watch what he does to Reince Prius, Carl Rove, and the rest. Expect to see Mr. Mayor, Newt, Jeff Sessions and others come into play as we move forward.

As for killing The Beast... Easy. Trump just needs to have his marketing department create a glitzy 58 page Power Point with voice overs, depicting all the criminal acts Hillary has committed.

Further, the ribbon-cutting on The Old Post Office will be broadcast all over the world. That's Trump's brand and the fanfare will illustrate success. Hillary will be curled up in a fetal position, drooling and slobbering with blood coming out of her ears and whatever.

“If trump gets more votes than Hilary and Bernie in NY I’d agree if he doesn’t than he’s toast.”

Trump 518,601
Sand 752,739
Clin 1,037,344

Got any jam for that toast?

Ted will not possibly win the general election, and will be creamed. Historic loss.

Ted could win if Hillary got indicted a few days before the general election. Other than that you're right. He has no chance.

The evangelical base ceased to be a reliable path to general election victory in 2000 when Bush lost the popular vote and barely won the electoral vote. If it weren't for the patriotic boost Bush got from 9-11 2004 would have been another squeaker. The shift in demographics should have been obvious when the Monica Lewinsky scandal failed to drive Bill Clinton from office. A Ted Cruz conservative country would never tolerate Clinton. A Christian in name only electorate would and did.

Trump's strength comes in part from his ability to appeal to many Christian voters with symbolic, non-controversial issues like bringing back "Merry Christmas", while at the same time not alienating any particular Christian or non-Christian denomination with too many theological specifics.

Reagan and the two Bushes knew how to handle religious issues. So does Trump. Cruz does not.
