Ted Cruz: Trump Is ‘Afraid’ to Debate
Breitbart ^ | 04/20/16 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/20/2016 8:23:27 PM PDT by writer33

Wednesday while campaigning in Hershey PA, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)said his rival Donald Trump was “afraid of a debate” with him because he lacked “substantive solutions” on policy.

Cruz said, “What I agree is that the Democratic process works, and Donald whines and complains when the voters reject him. The voters are going to decide. We’ve won five states in a row. Donald won his home state, which surprised nobody. And it’s the people — we are seeing Republicans uniting behind our campaign. Because if Donald is the nominee, Hillary wins and she wins by double digits. The stakes for our country are too great to continue down this disastrous economic road and this foreign policy that empowers our enemies. And so I couldn’t be more encouraged at seeing the unity we are having across the country. Donald’s desperation had everyone wanting to just give him the race. It shows that he’s scared when the people decide. You know, if Donald had confidence in his positions, we’d have a debate in Pennsylvania, before Pennsylvania votes. What is Donald Trump saying to the people of Pennsylvania that he thinks they don’t deserve a debate? What does it say about the corrupt big government Democrats that they’re willing to have debates. That Hillary Clinton is more willing to have her positions challenged than Donald Trump? I think that’s disgraceful. I think any candidate owes it to the voters to defend their positions.

Cruz is begging for a debate.

Trump should decline. After all, if Cruz was winning, he wouldn’t be demanding a debate.

Cruz is so full of it that when Trump wins and moves to the Whitehouse Cruz will be whining about Trump moving into public housing a black family was forced to move out of.

Do we want a bitchy debate club champion or do we want a leader? There is a lot of difference between the two.

What is the point of debating with Cruz? He has been “mathematically eliminated”. He has lost... it is all over.

Thank God Trump is afraid to debate! No way I could sit through yet another GOP debate again this year. The last half-dozen or so were really, really tedious. Enough already with the debates!

The low-information will have to debate Hillary in the fall. Hopefully he’ll take some time to study & prepare.

Cruz reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Stewie keeps calling his Mom’s name.

Senator Cruz, as the master debater he is, should know that you don’t do anything to give any credibility to your foe when you are clearly in the lead.

It also appears Ted forgot he’s had 25+ hours of debate with Donald, already.

Third place finishers always want a debate.

Money is drying up so it is an easy way to get face time on TV.

Front Runners once they take a commanding lead and/or the other candidates are mathematically eliminated from a first ballot win rarely if ever agree to debate.

It is a sad state of affairs when there is a chance to have conservatism on display for everyone to see and it’s scuttled by a man that has no real plan on how to do it.
