Environmentalists truly believed and predicted during the first Earth Day in 1970 that the planet was doomed unless drastic actions were taken.
Humanity never quite got around to that drastic action, but environmentalists still recall the first Earth Day fondly and hold many of the predictions in high regard.
So this Earth Day, The Daily Caller News Foundation takes a look at predictions made by environmentalists around the original Earth Day in 1970 to see how theyve held up.
Have any of these dire predictions come true? No, but that hasnt stopped environmentalists from worrying.
From predicting the end of civilization to classic worries about peak oil, here are seven environmentalist predictions that were just flat out wrong.

And yet, they persist.
Seems they have become climatoligists in the new millenium.

To understand the extent of the damage liberal humans can cause, one must realize that Leftist (misnamed) “progressive” policy pollutes everything it touches... as tons of toxic waste is dumped daily into our biosphere... where it often pretends to be “science”, “economic justice”, “fairness” and “equality”. In reality it destroys science, political systems, faith and spirit, replacing them with the slow death parasite of poisoned ideology. This septic mixture and pathogen causes painful symptoms... as it creates and cultivates discontent, hopelessness and frustration in the heart and mind of all those it infects. Early signs are always blaming others for any shortcomings one encounters. Another sign of infection is the encouragement failure and punishing of success.
So give up and fill in your helpless victim status here:________________ and forget even trying to escape your circumstances by your own efforts. Wait for your government nanny to “help”.
Only if the Muslims have their way with worldwide jihad.
Sending this to my pastor.
While you’re at it, see if he has answers for the following:
1. Define the correct temperature range for the planet.
2. Define the correct humidity range for the planet.
3. Define the correct mean sea level for the planet
4. Define the correct amount of precipitation for the planet.
5. Define the correct makeup of the atmosphere.
6. Define the correct amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.
7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.
Maybe it’s God at work doin’ what he does.
Great one, a Classic for sure.
