I do not think that is an “official” RNC take. I believe it was one person.
The fact is, that particular stance is old...I do not believe it was in the last few days.
After Tuesday’s landslides, I believe Trump is going to have well over 1,237 committed/pledged delegates when he gets to the convention.
The last chance for Cruz to have any hope of preventing that is Indiana...and I believe Trump takes Indiana with near or over 50%. Which is why Cruz was desperate to make the deal he made with Kasich.
But the momentum is all in Trump’s court now and I think that will play out through the rest of the contests.
Cruz may win South Dakota and Nebraska...and a shot at Montana...but with the momentum going like it is...he may lose them too. Even if he won all three of those convincingly, that’s only 91 delegates. Not nearly enough to make a difference in the end.
I believe Trump goes to the convention with close to 1,300 committed delegates at this point. Cruz may get there with a few over 700 if he does really well.
Surrogates should STFU then.
They do the RNC, RSCC, GOPe no favors at all.
Not that those Ass hats ever needed help demonstrating what self serving whack jobs they are.
I look forward to the day they are marooned on an island and perpetually at a distance from the rest of us.
