If I didn’t share this before, in 1984 I was part of the College Republicans at UCSB. We did a fundraiser by inviting Buckley to speak, and I got to introduce him. He said “LS proves that being a conservative intellectual is not an oxymoron.” (I had to look that up after the show).

He played piano at the house where he did a reception-—great piano player. Had a nice dinner with him, too.
