Will Donald Trump drive Miami Cuban Americans from GOP? New poll says yes
Miami Herald ^ | PATRICIA MAZZEI

Donald Trump is the catalyst who could force a decisive break between Miami-Dade County’s influential Cuban-American voters and the Republican Party, a new poll has found.

Local Cuban Americans dislike Trump so much — and are increasingly so accepting of renewed U.S.-Cuba ties pushed by Democratic President Barack Obama — that Trump’s likely presidential nomination might accentuate the voters’ political shift away from the GOP, according to the survey shared with the Miami Herald and conducted by Dario Moreno, a Coral Gables pollster and a Florida International University associate politics professor...

I have seen so many articles today putting Trump in the loss column in the November election.

Enough already and get over it, you media and political people.

so....now that we’ve officially made nice with Castro, they no longer have skin in the game, and are going to start voting Democrat like every other Hispanic group in this country.

No surprise there.

Miami-Dade county (Little Havana) and Broward county down here in South Florida have been Democrat bastions for decades...

Vote Trump

Yes. We HAVE to, from now on, make ALL of our future choices based on “What will Miami Cubans think about this?” After all, they’re what’s really important here, n’est pas?

That’s the ticket.

If Rubio comes to his senses and endorses Trump maybe this scenario can be stopped in its tracks.

Maybe it won’t happen anyway. The pundits have been consistently clueless about Trump and could be wrong on this as well.

The data says the opposite of the headline. From the article:

“Thirty-seven percent of respondents supported Trump, a number that is still higher than the 31 percent who backed Clinton...”

So Trump beats Clinton by 6 points among Cuban-Americans, but that doesn’t fit the “Trump is going to lose!” meme the media is desperately trying to put out to prop up a very weak Dem candidate.

‘and are increasingly so accepting of renewed U.S.-Cuba ties pushed by Democratic President Barack Obama’

Not the older Cuban-Americans, who remember what Cuba was like before the Castros and Communism. The younger Cuban-Americans have grown up in our ‘Leftism all the time’ education system. This result is not surprising.

If their primary allegiance is to their skin color then they are not my countrymen anyway. To hell with them.

Cuban-Americans have been trending Dem for quite a while. The children of the Cuban exiles are becoming more and more Dem.

They favor amnesty and increased immigration. South FL has become part of Latin America.
