I ain’t buying what they are selling. Nor are the Cubans in Miami. The Herald is on life support because they are so far left (typical newspaper) that they are out of touch with their paying readers. This is garbage polling. The new Latinos from other countries that are now in Miami are much more liberal, and many of the younger generations descended from the Cuban Americans are also more liberal. But, the Cuban Americans that were conservative have remained conservative. That will not change. They have not “warmed” to the softening of relations with the Castro government.

I think a realistic assessment of these numbers would show that not much has changed among that community, especially those who actually run businesses and the like. The worry is the millennial who have been corrupted by the education system and the federal money teat are hopelessly dems.

It’s a Miami Herald story, so I don’t place much credence in it. They’re members in good standing of the leftwing, collectivist, “progressive”, democrat Super-Pac, so you won’t be getting much, if any, objective news-reporting from them for the duration of the general election campaign.

Excellent. The entire article is somewhat suspect anyway; Cubans who managed to escape Cuba would absolutely go for Trump who wants to Make America Great Again - they left Cuba because America is Great, after all!

Truth is, most of the Cubans here are white: Spaniards whose forebears made a short stop in Cuba before fleeing Castro. There's a pretty pronounced caste system among the Cubans.
