Thanks. Maybe the most memorable call to 870am in Los Angeles was during the height of the Lewinsky scandal. I announced on the show (not Hugh’s) that I was flying to DC for the weekend with an eviction notice for the Clintons. Since they obviously would not let me serve it, I would blow it up poster size and parade with it in front of the White House. That call led to my first encounter with the FBI.
A caller who hated me called the FBI in Los Angeles and told them Doug from Upland was going to the White House to blow it up. Idiot, I was blowing up the eviction notice.
The FBI forced the station owner or manager to show up at his station on Sunday night and play the tape from my call. I heard about it on Tuesday and called the local field office to assure them I was not a threat. When I gave my name they said -— we know who you are. LOL
The trip went well. The eviction notice made the WASHINGTON TIMES. I visited the Starbucks where Mary Mahoney and two others were killed. I tried to talk to Monica at her Watergate apartment but she wasn’t there. I have of picture of me recreating dead Vince Foster and laying down by the second canon. And, I peed on a nearby tree to commemorate when Patrick Knowlton went to the park to pee and saw the Honda and two thugs who were undoubtedly the ones dumping the body.
And they actually let me into the WH for a tour. I got a Secret Service officer to laugh about his briefcase. I saw it and I asked if I could buy one, maybe even his. I joked about how much it cost and made some comment that it would be really expensive if it had missing Whitewater documents in it. He actually laughed.
