As predicted in this space yesterday, Donald Trump rolled to a big win in Indiana and Ted Cruz dropped out of the GOP presidential race. Trump is now on track to hit the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the nomination on the first ballot in Cleveland in July. The focus now shifts to how Republicans will deal with the fact that Trump — who is neither a fiscal nor a social conservative — is their standard bearer. Some began on Tuesday to line up behind the Manhattan-based brand manager. The RNC officially acknowledged Trump as the victor. But there are plenty of big names — including Cruz — who have not lined up behind Trump and may never do so.

Trump is the only hope for our nation. If we get Hillary (Obama Term III), then at a minimum the majority of the USSC will view the Constitution as a “living document”. And that is enough of a reason for this not-too-crazy-about-Trump voter to walk over broken glass to vote for Donald in November.
The same can be said for the vast majority of the current GOP crop in DC.

I think there will be some sort of realignment, some of it visible, some of it subterfuge. The GOPe is still solidly opposed to Trump, but is boxed in by public popularity. Some parts of the GOPe will honestly support Trump, most will just "not stand in his way," but also not do anything to help, some will attempt sabotage behind the scenes, and a few are openly leaving the party.
Assuming Trump continues on to secure the nomination, the realignment will involve a substantial number of players, hundreds at the federal and pundit level. Trump is the first "America first" candidate to emerge in decades, and the globalist rot runs deep through the parties and the government offices.
That the prevailing sentiment of the ruling class prefers Hillary to Trump is not imagination. They view the ascension of Trump as a threat to their having a place in the game, period, not whether they lose this round and stay in to have a chance to win the next one.
Fox Business just anounced that Ksuck is droping out at 5:00.
Yeah, GOPe - hold yer noses and vote for Trump, like the rest of us had to do, when we voted for GHW Bush, Dole, W, McCain and Romney.

I agree that it will be a landslide, but I disagree with your analysis. I’m expecting a YUGE Trump landslide over crooked Hillary. And when it happens my beautiful girlfriend and I will be spending the weekend celebrating at Trump Tower NYC.
You’ve already got her sucker. Your vote and those like it have just condemned the country to increasingly faster and more agonizing death starting with 8 years of Madame President. No one with Trumps obscenely low favorability numbers, which he has honestly earned, has a chance to win. Your little 35% of the republican primary electorate will figure out to about 20% in the general. The truly sad thing is all the good people he will take down with him in what will truly now be wave election. Thanks for nothing.
