For Guccifer, Hacking Was Easy. Prison Is Hard. (2014 Guccifer Article)
New York Times ^ | November 10, 2014 | ANDREW HIGGINS

ARAD, Romania — He reveled in tormenting members of the Bush family, Colin L. Powell and a host of other prominent Americans, and also in outfoxing the F.B.I. and the Secret Service, foiling their efforts to discover even his nationality, never mind his identity. Early this year, however, the elusive online outlaw known as Guccifer lost his cocky composure and began to panic.

He smashed his hard drive and cellphone with an ax.

That spasm of precautionary destruction, at his home in Romania’s Transylvania region, did not help him much — especially as he left pieces of what would later become evidence scattered in the mud.

Two weeks later, on Jan. 22, a global hunt for the celebrated and mysterious hacker who first revealed self-portraits painted by George W. Bush and plundered a trove of personal emails from politicians, military officers and celebrities finally ended in an early morning raid of his home.

This article was from 2 years ago before we knew about Guccifer's Hillary connection. It would be interesting if this relative nobody who wasn't even all that knowledgeable about computers is the one who brings Hillary down. For that I would say he should earn a PARDON.

For that I would say he should earn a PARDON.

For that alone he is deserving of a substantial pension and transportation to the country of his choosing!

He’ll die in prison. Shortly.

Look up how far back the FBI interviewed Guccifer in the Romanian prison.

[He smashed his hard drive and cellphone with an ax.]

Ha. Like that would make any difference. Surely he was smarter than that.

On the upside, I hope his data nails Hillary. Not that I expect them to do anything other than pardon her. Bet she knows too much dirt on Obama to let her skate without a pardon in mid-January, 2017.

And while wearing an “Hillary 2016” t-shirt, which, mysteriously, didn’t reflect the stabbing wounds on the body. Almost as if somebody put it on him afterwords.

I imagine that’s why Rod Blagojevich hasn’t squealed. He’s waiting for his January, 2017 pardon, too. He’d like to make it until then, alive.

Like Hillary thinking merely wiping her hard drive would preserve her secrets.

To make your hard drive unreadable you must drill through it numerous times...NUMEROUS...then anyone who is snooping can snoop all they like...not that I care ...my views are very well known by the scumbags that are working for me in Washington ...from the president on down. Again if you want to make your hard drive useless to anyone “DRILL BABY DRILL”

He had no expertise in computers, no fancy equipment, only a clunky NEC desktop and a Samsung cellphone, and no special skills beyond what he had picked up on the web.

Of course China , Russia etc have better equipment and experienced hackers.

If what Guccifer says is true about hacking into computers of high profile people, and I believe it is , other than that, why would our Govt. spend so much time and money on tracking him.

This should be used against Hillary, for her reckless disregard for security on her computer, when she was Secty. of State. - Tom
