Seventeen GOP presidential contenders pledged to support the eventual nominee, but now presumptive nominee Donald Trump is calling out former establishment darling Jeb Bush for not honoring that pledge.
"Jeb Bush signed a pledge and basically it says Im gonna support the person who wins the Republican primaries right? And it said that very strongly and he signed the pledge and now he says hes not going to honor the pledge. Thats very dishonorable. I think he should honor it. Even if he doesnt love me. And its hard for him to like me. But remember this, look, I hit him hard. Do we agree? Alright. Who cares? I mean I hit a lot of people hard and theyre like, my friends now. And they hit me hard."
Bush posted to Facebook on Friday a message that included the statement, In November, I will not vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, but I will support principled conservatives at the state and federal levels, just as I have done my entire life.
At the first Fox News Republican presidential debate last August, each of ten candidates were asked if they were not willing to commit to supporting the eventual Republican nominee. Trump was the only one to say he was not yet ready to make that commitment.
Trump did take the pledge last September.
The RNC pledge that each candidate is said to have committed to reads, I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is. I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.

I am so glad Trump said it finally. They skewered Trump for not supporting the nominee. They make him sign the pledge and then princess JEB feels like reneging. Amazing!
Your post is more cogent than anything I have seen or read in all of the media recently.
Thanks.
Thieves are a pretty honest crowd when compared to establishment politicians.
YEB! should go into the Guacamole Bowl business. His days of running a lemonade stand are over.
Everyone looking at this objectively knows Jeb has acted dishonorably. So it’s good for it to be acknowledged in public rather than silenced by deference to his family’s power.
That pledge might as well have filled in the blank with Trump’s name. It was obviously written to prevent him from running third party.
>>Prescott Bush, GHWBs father worked with Hitler, so now that I know some of the Bushes background, it clears up a lot of things in my mind...
The Bushes/ Romney and others are called turncoats and should be treated as such...
It’s true, Prescott Bush supported and worked WITH the Nazis. The US gov’t shut Bush’s bank down because of Bush ties with the Nazis.
Who knew? I guess that doesn’t make them turncoats because they never were on the side of conservative patriots. They have not turned from their past but have stayed true to their “ideals”. Tyrants.
We are blessed that God has chosen to use DJT to unmask the evil and reveal so many Truths!
You might figure that anyone with this track record might have their advice questioned a little by the losers they backed, but apparently not. The reason that this is such ridiculously ill-formed politics is simple: what happens when Trump wins? They're out for four years at least, perhaps eight, and the political environment to which they return is going to be very different from the present and they're not going to be in charge of it simply because they were hot stuff in 2015. Entitlement expired, gentlemen. You're fired.
Brilliant.
The Bush Family loves to think of themselves as the epitome of honor.
Jeb is too special to vote for a candidate the citizens have chosen?
Jeb is a despicable sissy.
The best response would be that, “This is the end of the Bush political dynasty, and Jeb Bush just slammed the door on the possibility of a Bush ever ascending to power in the Republican party again. Maybe they will have luck embracing their new, Chamber of Commerce Party.”
Thank you, Eddie. A case, simply, of like minds.

“Yep, we all have some blame in this too. We continued to vote for the globalists like HW and W Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney even when many were voicing their doubts about them. “
You are spot on! I worried when it looked as though “W” might not win either of his elections, but then you have to look at the absolute $hit the RATs were running to put things in perspective. At the end of the day, our “presidential excrement” was only slightly less toxic than the opposition. I wouldn’t “empty my bladder on any of the Booshes” if I found them on fire, now that Trump has exposed all of them for the sorry bastards they all are.
I don’t think any of us are to blame.
The Elites knock out all the real Patriots early on, leaving us to choose BETWEEN the globalists who pose as fake conservatives and patriots. You can see how many were fooled just recently.
The Globalists were incredulous that one slipped through with Reagan, and smeared and mocked him unmercifully.
DJT has endured what no other human could endure. Sarah came very close but in the end, they knocked her out.
Their usual control mechanism, campaign funding, didn’t work with DJT, but they still used other knock-out modules, such as scorn, mockery, and lies about him 24/7. We’ll see if they attempt to JFK him, if all else fails.
If DJT weren’t in the race, we would have NO hope of breaking free of the chains of the globalist elites short of violent revolution, and today’s technology “control” makes even that remedy ineffective.
Verrrry interestink.
You're an idiot.
Noteworthy is Donald Trump’s demonstration of class in not going after Jeb’s wife.
Her shortfalls stand on their own.
