You are correct, Medved is a talking head. He advocates for the GOPe. Rather than couch his sentiments as a wish list, he couches them as Trump has to temper (soften, drop) certain of his positions in order to get "unification," and implies that "unification" is more important than the policy positions.

Just flapping his jaws, filling air space. Nobody who matters is going to be influenced by his remarks. Trump is going to stick to his "lines in the sand," will continue to express them, and his detractors will continue to say that he'll lose the election unless he changes. We've seen this play out before.
