There's an idiot developed every second. Srsly? I guess living a drug and alcohol free life is boring huh? Well except for that evil tobacco. No worries though, I'm thinkin' that Question 2 on the Nov. Nevada ballot will make marijuana recreational use a-ok for an ounce or less. Watch out for slow moving traffic.

This reminds me of frog licking. Somebody had to lick frogs to figure out they got a buzz from it. Who on earth would do that???

Hippies in the ‘60s used to make milk shakes in blenders with blue morning glory seeds — and get sick and sometimes die from them. This is an old fad come around again.

Three kids killed themselves from snorting window cleaner in the car back in Delaware, it was like they made whatever substance they wanted into a drug, just so stupid.

Morning glory seeds are an old favorite for people who run out of pot and other dope. It’s analogous to the resort to Saran Wrap when the condoms are gone.

When I was 14 I read somewhere that you can get high from smoking dried banana peels.

I learned shortly thereafter that you cannot get high from smoking dried banana peels.

Some things never change.

So know if someone wants to plant blue morning glory, do you have to register like you do when you need to buy cold medicine?

Whenever a pedestrian is killed by a car in the street cars must be pulled from all streets nationwide to avoid another meaningless death of an innocent person. Obama should order all cars off the streets of America permanently. I will save people and our precious environment.

I think most, if not all, of the “first adopters” of these fads are either dead or comatose, by now.

you can’t protect every mentally ill person from themselves, unless you completely turn the screws on society and turn it into a police state

These things are called “intoxicants” for the very literal reason that they are toxic. People interpret the disruption of neurological signaling by these poisons as pleasurable; too much disruption is lethal. The seeking to become intoxicated is puzzling from a biological standpoint.

If you just HAVE to get high then Morning Glory seeds are relatively dangerous compared to other legal highs. You can smoke chamomile (yes, the tea) or wild lettuce (like ancient Roman soldiers) without risking liver failure or heart attack. Even nutmeg is less dangerous and erowid.com has some nightmare stories about that.

Morning Glory seeds were sometimes used in combination with other herbs for poison based abortions before modern medicine. I don’t recall if it directly poisoned the fetus or caused abdominal cramps to help move it along.

In the 1980s, “Chinese Morning Glory seeds” were not being bought to be grown, apparently — but the seeds have to be cleaned by blanching, in order to remove the various pesticides, fungicides and such that are applied to keep the seeds from going bad on the shelf.

Thompson and Morgan seeds (out of the UK) sell peyote cactus seeds, perhaps other stuff, but they aren’t legally obtainable (yet) in the US.

There are other, wild-growing options, but as all “vision quest” types of plants are poisonous if you get enough, I’m done posting about it. :’) In most parts of the lower 48, there are half a dozen plants in the vicinity (usually within feet or yards of the back door) which will either gitcha high, or kill ya, or both, depending on how they’re used. Just to be tricky, one of them looks exactly like a genus of harmless plants which has dozens of species growing wild. :’o
