More than 70 gravesite headstones have been vandalized and stripped of their bronze/copper name plates at the Julia Page Cemetery, located at the 1300 block of Third Street.
The incident is under investigation by the Douglas Police Department and is believed to have been occurring over the past few months, although it is just now being reported, according to DPD Sgt. Jose Duarte.
As of Friday, investigators have only been able to identify fewer than 10 victims, including the loved one of Douglas resident Tom Felix.
STATE,COUNTY,CITY if you don’t mind.
is bronze worth something? I’ve never given it much thought
Douglas, Arizona.
Muslim immigrants get infused in recently?
“is bronze worth something? Ive never given it much thought”
Yes
If you go there to find out if your Grampa’s grave was disturbed, PLEASE don’t pick up any hitchhikers on the road. And do NOT stop for gas and barbecue.
Victor Davis Hanson is a conservative Prof author from near Fresno, Calif. He writes very often of the social, environmental and political changes arising from the massive Illegal Alien tidal-waves:
ALL the bronze historical placards from the local points of interest have been pried off, gone forever.
Also happening in all the local graveyards, exactly as we see here.
The placards are sold to local scap dealers for cash.
It’s not THEIR history, right?
So why should THEY care..?
This is like the muzzie “refugees” camping out in Euro graveyards, partying and peeing on the graves, etc.
According to one buyer on the net it’s worth about $1.25 per lb.
Bronze = copper + tin
Go to the nearest scrap (Yonke) dealer south of the border. They won’t be carrying this stuff very far.
Third place i think
I cant claim to be an expert on headstones. Having said that, Ive seen quite a few as I wander graveyards for genealogy purposes. Ive never seen flush stone with any sort of flower cup or anything in the stone. The vandalized one in the picture has a hole beneath, inaccessible, where the plate should normally be mounted.
What is that really intended for? I don't know. I suspect I know why the plates are being removed, especially given that this cemetery is that close to the border.
Here in NJ had crackheads unbolting sections of guardrail
along Interstate 80 - State police caught one of these clowns
walking on shoulder dragging piece of guardrail
Stopped when starting arresting scrap dealers for receiving
stolen property ......
Happened a lot around here.
Funny only Anglo’s graves were destroyed.
Tells who/what did it.
Yep
