Saudi Arabia holds $117B in US debt

The Treasury Department said Monday that Saudi Arabia held $116.8 billion in U.S. debt at the end of March, revealing for the first time the holdings of the world's biggest oil exporter.

The pile puts Saudi Arabia among the largest foreign nation holders of American debt. Still, it sits well behind countries like China and Japan, which both had more than $1 trillion in Treasury securities at the end of March.

Saudi Arabia's holdings could be even larger than officially listed, according to Bloomberg, which first reported the total.

Saudi Arabia has about $587 billion in foreign reserves and central banks often put about two-thirds of their stashes in dollars, Bloomberg said. Some countries list Treasury holdings offshore and they show up under other countries.

I thought Moose-Limbs didn’t believe in “Usury”....

What is debt if not Usury....

I say we just write them off...

How about they deduct all the aid we’ve been giving them for years? That ought to take care of it and then some.

We paid for that 28 page 911 report, we have a right to know if we are buying fuel from an enemy.

America first.

I have recently studied the released FBI report to the 911 commission on the assistance and support ( logistical and economic) given to the 911 hijackers in San Diego. no less the 5 Saudi government officials directly were involved along with the Saudi Ambassador “Prince” Bandar and his wife. Because the Saudis had paid US politicians, these damning facts were covered up? Anwar Awlaki himself was flown out of this country at at taxpayer expense. He not only had helped master mind the hijackers but he later directed Major Nidal Hassan to kill 13 and wound 36 as an act of religious war on our soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas ( still not executed!!)
Mohamad Atta and 4 other hijackers were frequent visitors to Saudi Royal Family members homes in Florida. Absolute connections. Why did we not properly respond to this aggression from Saudi Arabia against our Christian Nation? Why did we invade Iraq? I want the Saudis to pay.NOW!

So is it implied here that the Saudis can push us around and schwing us by the gonads if we don't treat them with kid gloves? ENOUGH of these veiled threats by these slimy Terrorist-enablers. Once Trump is President, they'd better change their tune and play nice. Perhaps he'll be the one President who finally commits to unleashing the production of US oil reserves, build refineries, and slash all dependence of Saudi/OPEC oil.

If "our" government weren't bought and paid for, wouldn't those Saudi assets be frozen and used to pay the lawsuits of families of 911 victims, including medical costs of responders? Why not confiscate the US real estate of any Saudis with terror links? Why wouldn't other victims of Saudi terror also get their share? Seems to me those Saudi assets could be brought down to zero pretty quickly.

I'm wondering if there are globalist-inclined US pols who have enabled Saudi activities which support terror.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a govennment that represented US? What is this whole anti-Assad destabilize Syria situation all about, anyway? It certainly isn't in the interest of the US.

Us taxpayers paid 3 million a piece for the 3000 murdered by the Saudis. That is $9 Billion!!! I want all that money now from the Saudis. The Stock Market fell 9% in one day. There were $40 billion in insurable losses from the Saudi attack. We suffer every day the incomparable dogging it of the TSA. Iwant all of that money paid back now. I want Prince Bandar returned to the US for trial and execution. I want Bush to explain why we covered this up. I want their oil.
