Warlords and kleptocrats who steal the foreign aid to feed their armies and regime rather than going to the people.

foreign aid comes in and displaces local techniques and Innovation and farmers they get hooked on it.

then when there’s some little Enviro blip on the radar screen there’s devastation.

foreign aid is an addiction and it’s hurting these countries.

one bleeding heart deeply involved in foreign aid finally got sick of it and wrote an exhaustive book about it spilling the beans.

foreign aid is wiping out Africa.

The problem actually isn’t foreign aid. It is corrupt political systems, kleptocracies, and an industry that likes them being poor.

The problem is foreign aid.

This!

We've wiped out local economies with our "free" stuff.

Pretty much. So much aid has flooded into Africa that some countries now have higher populations than the carrying capacity of their agriculture, thanks to improvements in vaccines and education. All it takes is one hiccup in the food production system and suddenly all those extra people don’t have enough to eat.

I’ve come to something close to that conclusion myself.

They are giving them fish, and not teaching them how to.

This goes beyond food too.

When you think about it, who runs those aid efforts? Isn’t it the global Leftists for the most part?

What does those folks know about an economic system? N O T H I N G !

They all think government handouts is tantamount to some tree that money grows on. They never quite grasp that there needs to be an economy. Without one, there wouldn’t be handouts from the first world nations.

What we should see happening is the introduction of entry level, intermediate, and advanced jobs over there. That’s the only way Africa will climb out of the mess.

Handouts, or simply growing a subsistence level of crops will never be sufficient to lead Africa into an average type existence.

If more attention was paid to all tier jobs, the place would improve overnight.

Yes. The Social Justice Warriors have it right. If we send them western food and other materials, this is cultural imperialism on our part. Were the Africans to accept it, this would be cultural appropriation on their part.

So, following progressive theory, the best thing we can do for these people is: exactly nothing. Leave them alone to work this out their own way in their own culture.

And, coincidentally, sending food and aid would be violating the Prime Directive. Off:Sarc, I think
