They’ve had a Republican Governor for at least six years now and he even had the audacity to run for President on the Republican ticket. Has he even tried to change the current state law?

Fatboy did NOTHING about that law; however, he did place THREE rabid MUSLIMS on the bench as N.J. judges.

...and Trump better keep him at arm's length. Cristie is the only reason I wouldn't vote for Trump.

Yes, in a better way.

He tried to loosen the justifiable need requirement for a carry permit since it is essentially impossible to prove justifiable need. It would apply to domestic violence and other cases where there's threat. In 2014, there were 452 carry permits in NJ, that's .005% of the population. Of those 452, most were armored truck guards(who can only carry while working), the remainder were prosecutors, judges and celebrities. NJ is essentially "no issue" for all intents and purposes.

He also clarified "reasonable deviation" for where you can have guns. Unlike most of the country, just having a hand gun in your car, in the back, locked up, is against the law in NJ unless you are going to a gun range, gunsmith, to a business you own or while moving. The same applies to hollow point bullets by the way. You are allowed reasonable deviations from those specifics but they were never enumerated which means you could get jacked up on your way back from the range if you stopped to get fuel.

Of course the NJ legislature melted down over the "relaxing" of these rules, predicting blood running in the street if someone picks up a friend and there's a gun in the car. So all that Christie did will probably go out the window.
