The problem in this country is judges subverting the will of the citizens and legislating from the bench. They should be impeached, removed from office in derision, and their rulings vacated.

Continually, the courts seem to be searching for some horizon that will always be out of reach. Some horizon where every exception is accounted for. The problem with this concept is that the design of our courts HAS an exception for every law built into it; that is called the jury system.

It is up to those 12 peers to take into account the mental state, the maturity, etc that makes up the person being tried, and to apply a just verdict. A lot of judges like to pretend that these are supposed to be robots who simply accept data inputted and are supposed to spit out a response.

That is not how our courts were designed.

All of that said, I happen to agree with the concept that life plus or 50 years or even 25 years in prison is too long. If someone is so horrid to require being imprisoned for that long, take them out back and shoot them. Put the vile reject from human society down like the rabid dog they are.

Do I want to see what the prisons can create after warehousing them in style for 25+ years? No, I don’t. Even if (somehow) they come out the most wonderful Christian person ever, I’d much rather have that 3 to 5 million dollars spent helping someone who wants to be helped. Or even better, kept in the pockets of taxpayers so that they can choose to do whatever they please with the money.

There comes a time, at some point, where we as a society have to actually decide if we’re warehousing people or if we’re rehabilitating people. Because if we’re actually going to rehabilitate people, we have to change drastically how we’re doing it.

All in all, while I object tremendously to why the courts are doing this, and object even further to the creature who will be delivered to society for that brief time before they are once again thrown back in prison for the revolving door that will be the rest of their life, I understand their reasoning behind the decision.

That's Leftism 101.
Innocent life not even capable let alone intending to harm others is expendable as a mere afterthought at best, and the practice must be subsidized by taxpayers.

Proven brutal murderers duly convicted under the law however, must be spared at any cost for as long as possible, and also subsidized by the taxpayers.

Our Leftist friends consider the innocent and the good to be evil while the less-than-worthless who need justice applied are "victims".

I have had several 25-40 year olds paroled in my neighborhood. The SOB’s did some painting around here and stole from homes, garages etc. You cannot let anyone in your home or outside it without watching them now.

RATS are starting to parse that...trying to get more money for schools by saying we pay more for inmates than we do for schools
