Speaking with Breitbart’s Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon Friday, ethical expert and theologian Dr. Thomas D. Williams said that from the perspective of America’s involvement, World War II undoubtedly satisfied all the conditions to be considered a “just war.”

Well, gee, Doc, thanks... I’m sure my Airborne old man would be THRILLED to know that fighting the Nazis - and his brothers and cousins fighting the Japs in the Pacific - passed the test for a “just war”.

ANY time you’re fighting a totalitarian, oppressive government, it’s “just”.

Every Cold Warrior who stood up to the Soviet Union and their communist proxies fought a “just” war too.

There is a terminal sickness setting in if we have reached the point where our justification for fighting WWII is even questioned.

America’s schools must return to teaching American history or all will be lost.

And it must be taught in a positive light - not in a negative, disparaging way as Barack Obama views it.

I’m so relieved. I’ve been worried about that for my entire life.

Don’t knock the article. Every generation needs to be reminded of it. Never forget, and things that are self-evident to our generation are not to later ones. I teach the church high school Sunday School class and am a faculty advisor for the high school “We The People” Team. All of those kids were born well after the fall of the USSR and the first Gulf War. They were infants on 9/11. I constantly remember to take into account their frame of reference and life experience.

They need to learn what we lived.

I suspect he was making the statement, a correct statement to counter what Obama said in Hiroshima and what the Pope’s spokesman said in Rome last week

Well there’s a profound statement. So ya think that if we’re attacked it’s a just war if we retaliate? Glad to be informed.

If WWII started today we would probably be aligned with the Axis powers . . . it could never happen in the 1940’s but the 2010’s are a different era altogether.

I don’t see any Winston Churchills or Dwight D. Eisenhower’s in this generation.

“Just war” is a screwy concept. War is a fact of life.

Just? Unjust? Pointless to even begin the analysis.

Everybody thinks they are the good guys.

The effin' idiots humping the dead "unjust war" trash seem to think no one knows the facts which are we went to war with Japan after they attacked Pearl Harbor and with Germany after after they declared war on us.

Several Nazi generals, in fact, thought Hitler was insane for having declared war on the US because they knew, and most Brits knew, that the US couldn't get a declaration of war against Germany passed through Congress unless and until some act far worse than the sinking of freighters or destroyers.

Twice US ships engaged in such duty were attacked the Congress still refused to even consider a declaration of war against German because the vast majority of the population didn't want Roosevelt being involved in another European war even if it was just escorting and protecting US freighters carrying US goods to England.

Once the war started, all bets were off. People knew how the Japanese were slaughtering and torturing civilians in China and they knew the Germans were letting hundreds of thousands of Russian POWs and civilians starve to death as well as killing many civilians just to avoid dealing with them in occupied areas, and not only Jews. Hitler spoke on the radio about all Slavs being subhuman. People in the US could pick up those broadcasts and they were printed and published in many newspapers so no one was in the dark about what sort of animals we were up against.

Maybe not the rank and file, but the rank and file would follow orders and at the leadership in both Germany and Japan considered others as subhuman animals unworthy of living on the planet with them except as slaves.

Using A-bombs on Japan was merciful, not horrible, and millions of Japanese survived the war because we used those bombs rather than invading, not to mention the million or so dead and wounded US military folks who were spared.

Any other opinion of the issue is based on an unrealistic revision of history to suit the agenda of the person(s) spinning the alternative viewpoint.

Amen, brother. And we all need to remember that we are getting older by the day and we will die out. This is why fighting liberal indoctrination in our schools is so important — that is to the extent we can even fight it.

The law of the Lord God of Israel states that:

2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

This is the only place in Scripture wherein God does not require blood for blood for murder and a city of refuge for a man to run to if manslaughter is unintentionally committed. Many who study the Scriptures conclude that this can apply to a nation attacked by another without provocation so that the soldiers are not guilty of fighting and killing those who attacked them.

Exodus 22:
1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.

5 If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.

6 If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

8 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.

9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

I suspect that very soon, the Left will justify the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, because Japan just wanted to end British Colonialism in Asia, and the US was in the way.

Once Britain also declared war on Japan, that basically ended any limits on aiding Britain. Inevitably we would up our supplies to Britain and the Germans would sink US ships, giving us the Casus Belli to go to war with Germany, it was only a matter of time.

You may be correct, and I may have misread it.

It rankled me, is all. My family had a lot blood shed in that war. Two cousins never came home. My old man almost didn’t as well.

I’m rather under the impression that the boy king fired all the good generals and if W2 broke out on his watch, we would all be screwed.

Yes, and It rankles me that history being taught must have been altered as so many don’t know the truth.
