Draft paper: Germany to boost military role on world stage
Deutsche Welle ^ | 27.05.2016 | [nm/sms (AFP, dpa)]

Germany is ready to take on a bigger military role to maintain global security, according to a government white paper. The draft document indicates a possible shift away from Germany’s postwar era of military restraint.

The government’s position paper on security policy, seen by media outlets on Friday, said Germany was increasingly seen as a “key player” in Europe, and had “a responsibility to actively help shape the global order.”

It added that Germany could do more at a time when the global community was grappling with threats including terrorism waged by “Islamic State,” cybercrime and a more aggressive Russia. At the same time, however, the paper pointed out that there would be clear limits to Berlin’s contribution. …

What could possibly go wrong?

We trust them this time. Right?

Trump effect. Germany recognizes that under a Trump administration the US is no longer going to fund the majority of Europe’s military protection.

You got that right. The reason that Germany is so flush with their libtard illegal immigrants programs is because the U.S. is funding their defense.

So we taxpayers have basically been funding the European invasion.

Military and Germany in the same sentence makes me nervous.

As the success rate from thousands of years of people betting on said prophecy to come to pass is zero, I’m totally comfortable with that.

Why? Germany has a long history of o/s military excellence.
Two examples:
* A number of German Officers played significant roles in defeating Britain during our Revolution.
* Von Blucher’s arrival at Waterloo, supporting Wellington, was decisive in the defeat of Napoleon.

Why, because of the one time in recent history we’ve all been conditioned since grade school to class them as equal to demons? The one time where by an amazing coincidence an entire nation of white men stood up and made perverts disappear, women make bread and children instead of unpaid prostitutes and idiots of themselves in public, made useful material goods instead of toys and made the entire world tremble at the mention of their name?

Fellow Freeper, the alternative is Muslim colonization, anarchy and/or war as the EU falls apart like wet cardboard and the former member states follow suit or scramble to renationalize and step on each other’s toes to the point of shooting. Next to that I’ll take German domination any day of the week and seven times on Sunday.

Japan, too.

It’s long past time to get over the excesses of WWII and insist that all democracies play a part in insuring peace.

I was in Germany, from 1980 to 1984. I thought the entire country was a bunch of pacifists. Two world wars can do that. I hope they wake up out of their sleep, and stop the Islamics, but I am not confident they will.

Dennis Miller had a great joke back during German reunification.

When the French heard about the Reunification plan, they started planting trees along the Champs-Elysee, so the Germans can march in the shade.

What is the world going to do when the German military is made up more of Islamists than Germany-loving Germans?

The scary thing is, the German military may soon start to reflect the German populace, and be full of Islamic jihadists....that’s what concerns me.
