You're assuming THIS is his country.

Explains alot. For our ENTIRE govt to ignore this proves, they do NOT represent US, but another organization entirely.

“Personally I think that Patton made an overstatement; especially if they are used as part of a coherent strategy and not as the only strategy.”

A wall isn’t the solution. It’s a tool used a s part of the solution.

>>Rome worked when foreigners crossed through its borders to become Romans. It failed when newcomers fled into the empire and adhered to their own cultures, which were at odds with the Roman ones they had ostensibly chosen.

This is a key point. And today, due to the preponderance of cultural Marxists in the educational system and Academe, we in the USA have forgotten how to teach immigrants, and even our own young, how to be Americans in the traditional sense. Self reliant, self governing, proud of our heritage, etc.

I've always had a liking for the Remote Sentry Guns as seen in the movie "ALIENS".

This device now exists on the Korean DMZ: the Samsung SGR-A1. It requires human permission to fire only because of the squeamishness of liberal generals regarding autonomous sentries.

.. Generally speaking, as president, it is "supposed" to be his country. I don't believe that's true as well.

My point is the irony of how two sodomites (I say that without apology) can have such different approaches to border security.

Of course, Hadrian's agenda did not include trying to destroy the empire--Obama's is just the opposite with America...

That image is not Hadrian's Wall.

This is Hadrian's Wall

They missed the point. All the walls in history were *not* supposed to keep out invaders, just to inhibit their entry *and* exit.

Such places were plagued by fast moving raiders, who would quickly enter, create havoc, then get away before a response could be made. But it took a long time to get over a wall in either direction, far longer than it took the “good guys” to descend on the “bad guys” and smite them.

But the US wall with Mexico is different. It *cannot* keep out all illegal aliens. But it is a very cost effective way to keep out 80% or more. That is, you get a huge “bang for your buck” compared to other programs that are far more expensive, and just get a small number of illegals.

As is this one.

Notice the difference of the scenery between the picture on top of the article and the one you posted. Had the townhall.com editor; not Victor Davis Hanson, done a picture search of Hadrian's wall he or she would have not posted the picture

Btw this is Hadrian's Scotland border wall

That is my position as well. Remove the bird feed, invite in a couple of red tailed hawks, and penalize any neighbors that feel sorry for the birds and fed them.

It keeps you car from being shiitted on and it is the most humane thing to do for the birds.

That said hardworking, non-taking, freedom loving people should always be welcome here. But those are rare birds!
