Dick Morris, an adversary of Bill and Hillary Clinton, has been hired by the National Enquirer as its chief political commentator and correspondent.
Enquirer Editor-in-Chief Dylan Howard called the addition proof of the Enquirers commitment to investigative journalism.
"He greatly values our commitment to delivering the kind of quality content that our readers have come to trust us for and, like The Enquirer, has the guts to publish stories other media won't touch, Howard said in a statement Friday.
Morris had previously written a weekly column for The Hill, but will no longer do so now that hes signed on with the Enquirer.
In light of Dick Morris' new position at the National Enquirer The Hill has decided to discontinue his column at The Hill. We wish him well, The Hill said in a statement.
Morris previously helped guide former President Clinton to his reelection in 1996, partly through the strategy of triangulation. Since then, Morris has emerged as a vocal critic of the Clintons and Hillary Clintons presidential bid.
He told The New York post that his first Enquirer column will assert that hackers infiltrated Hillary Clintons private email server that she used as the secretary of State. Both the agency and Clintons campaign have denied that the server was hacked.
Multiple news outlets have reported that GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump has a close relationship with Enquirer's chief executive, David Pecker. The Washington Post detailed at length what it called the "cozy" relationship between the paper and the real estate magnate.
The Enquirer drew the ire of former Trump rival Ted Cruz twice during the primary: once with a story alleging Cruz had cheated on his wife, and another linking Cruz's father to John F. Kennedy's assassination.
That led to Cruz lambasting the paper as a front for Trump, calling the affair story "complete and utter lies" from "Donald Trump and his henchmen."
Trump denied any connection to the affair story but has praised the Enquirer.
The National Enquirer gave you John Edwards; it gave you O.J. Simpson; it gave you many, many things. I mean, you cant knock the National Enquirer. Its brought many things to light, not all of them pleasant.
...the toe sucker has to stay out of parks
Some stuff you just can’t make up...
It’s about time they got someone with some journalistic gravitas... Oh wait... It’s THAT Dick Morris... Never mind.
well the good news is that this means the NE is ready to shred Hillary’s life, for sure
Morris can’t stand the witch
Poor NE, digging from the bottom of the barrel.
“...Enquirer’s chief executive, David Pecker.”
Dick will be working for Pecker. Amazing.
This is what DC media doesn’t understand.
TMZ, National Enquirer are the most trusted news sources.
Shock Jocks like Stern and those on Sirius XM all love Trump. They are somewhat respected. If Chuck Todd’s believability & approval is 5%, Sirius XM’s approval is 25%.
Trump has the support of the most reputable, trusted & profitable news & trash entertainment outlets.
Seems about right.
I think it’s a great move on Dick Morris’ part. The NE is the only media outlet that will go after Hillary without restraint.
He despises her since she beat him senseless.
He literally knows where the bodies are buried!
So, I guess his last gig pimping questionable investment products (”Crashproof Retirement”) on a Philadelphia radio station didn’t exactly pan out for him.
Darn, he’s going to have to get more accurate in his reporting now - if he wants to keep his new job for long.
Who is missing? In a literal sense...Dick Morris and a crew in a park with shovels somewhere in Illinois, Arkansas, New York, or D C metro in the middle of the night...
A move up from some of the places he has been seen....pretty bad when NE has a better rep than ABC/NBC/CBS/MSNBC and a lot of others....
“Geez, read yer Enquirer willya? That’s the only paper that’ll tell ya the truth!”—Archie Bunker
Got some stories right though
>>The National Enquirer, a supermarket tabloid that has reported on aliens, plastic surgeries and celebrity cellulite thighs, is in the running for the Pulitzer Prize after breaking the news on John Edwards affair with Rielle Hunter. He is about to be indicted by a federal grand jury for using campaign funds to help hide his trysts with the ex-mistress...They got a call on their LA tip line that Rielle was spilling about her affair with the presidential candidate back in late September 2007.
