The military is obsessed with alcohol.

The American people don't know that GENERAL ORDER NUMBER ONE for both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was and continues to be:

NO ALCOHOL!

I'm not kidding.

Of all the rules and guidance the military leadership could have made the top priority for the longest wars in American history, it decided to put the prohibition of alcohol at the top of the list.

Not that I'm in favor of drinking in a combat theater, but I would think that RULE NUMBER ONE would be something more inspirational, like:

WIN THE WAR.
