Gov. Malloy’s (D-CT) public approval rating hits new low

Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s popularity rating has hit a new low, with a majority of registered voters disapproving of how the Democrat has managed the state’s economy, jobs, budget and taxes.

A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday shows just 24 percent of registered voters approve of how Malloy is handling his job, while 68 percent disapprove. It’s a drop from Malloy’s prior lowest rating of 32 percent in October.

Poll director Doug Schwartz says Malloy’s numbers appear to be linked to the state’s economy. Eighty percent of those surveyed say the state’s economy is “not so good” or “poor,” while 74 percent say jobs are difficult to find.

Maybe Dannel will build another Busway to fix the economy. If that dosen't work, some more taxes and regulations will fix it. Last time was a fluke, right?

Connecticut used to be a beautiful state; worthy of being called the ‘Constitution State’.

I think CT could go for Trump in a huge upset. The Dems have raised taxes in CT so high businesses like GE are moving corporate headquarters and residents are pissed.

Yuppers.

I grew up there. A lot of people dropped out of voting because of frustration. To me the two turning points were the Pro Life Council of Connecticut teaming up with Planned Parenthood of Connecticut to remove the anti-abortion laws that were still on the books after Roe. The other being the election of Lowell Weicker, who won as an independent and crammed a state income tax down our throats. It wouldn't be hard to make Connecticut wealthy: be an island of sanity surrounded by NY, MA and RI.

When GE decides to move to Massachusetts... or instead of back to Schenectady, NY you know your state is a third world mess.

I currently live in CT. Once you get outside of Hartford, New Haven, etc. into the majority of people are pissed at the way the state is being run.

I agree many people have not voted in certain state/local elections because the Dems always find a way to have a issue in a major city which results in a few thousand extra votes. This year feels different like people have finally had it.

As a 28 year resident, this all rocketed into the terlit as soon as the bleeding heart feeder programs attracted the worthless cockroach population that refuses to embrace this thing called liberty and the responsibility of self sustaining ones family through HARD work. Weicker put in the “temporary” income tax to pay for that and everything social feel-good and it all exploded in their faces.

I’m from CT. Moved out 4 years ago.

“Detroitification” is the definition of Connecticut now.

I’m sorry to all who are still trapped there, with their 4-time-the-national-average expenses keeping it so tight every month that you can’t even afford a U-Haul to get out.

“I’m from CT. Moved out 4 years ago.”

I read this every day here on FR. Someone or another is “leaving their state.” Just WTF are you going to go at the end of the day? When are you going to stand and fight? Texas isn’t the answer, because it too is becoming a $hithole. Besides even Texas isn’t big enough to house the disenchanted from elsewhere, particularly with the Mexicans marching northward from the Rio Grande “reclaiming” what Texan’s “stole” from them!

It’s called strategic relocation. I’m weighed the two choices:

“Stay and fight. Don’t register my guns. Risk imprisonment. Family lives life without felon daddy”
or
“Drop everything and move to a friendly state where I can be surrounded by patriots and countrymen. Not worry, yet, about a fatherless family because some leftist wanted me in jail.

CT made overnight felons of tens of thousands citizens who did nothing wrong. I fled. Those people who “left their state” felt the same thing, and they fled. It’s strategy. You don’t just stand in place and start squeezing a trigger.

I evened it up. I moved from Michigan that tends to be a little purple to sometimes reddish to the liberal lunatic socialist cesspool of Maryland.

I’ve been here seven years. I think I may be able to handle a couple more but that’s about it.

These polls after elections make me laugh,if there was an election for governor tomorrow Malloy would win in a landslide.
Don’t forget Bill Clinton came and campaigned for Malloy and told us how Malloy had solved the economy here and the suckers bought it,and they will do it again
