Embryonic Stem Cell Fail as Firm Goes Defunct
American Thinker ^

In 2004, Vice-Presidential candidate John Edwards promised that if John Kerry won, people would rise out of their wheelchairs and walk. In the 2006 election, actor Michael J. Fox, who suffers from Parkinson’s, made a commercial for Democratic Senate candidates in which he urged voters to support those candidates who opposed restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research and stood in the way of imminent miracles. Private funding, it should be noted, was never restricted.

The only thing that stood in the way of miracle cures from embryonic stem cell research miracle cures, we were told, was the pro-life movement and those wascally Republicans who were putting embryos ahead of the sick and paralyzed.

Remember when Embryonic Stem Cell Research was promoted by politicians and the media as a cure for a number of diseases and disabilities.

It turns out the media and the politicians were lying. ESCR has turned out to be an expensive disaster. It produces no benefits whatsoever and the experiments are responsible for the death of several patients.

ESCR was used as a tool to attack pro life conservatives. It had no scientific value.

It was a waste of taxpayer money.

it wasn’t a “waste” for the “scientists” and shills who promoted it. they made big money off the tiniest of victims.

It was where science and magic met. ESCR could only work with American taxpayer’s money. No amount of private funding or other countries researchers could help.

However, adult stem cells have been successfully used in adults suffering from strokes, and they have had miraculous results.

I always knew the embryonic stem cells wouldn’t work; and I knew why they were using them .. it was a vain attempt to assuage their guilt at aborting babies .. pretending they were contributing to the public’s needs.

But, in the end, it was the adult stem cells which worked.

And yet, we won. ASC owns the field now.

There's a book to be written in that victory.

ESCR, Global Warming(excuse me-Climate Change), etc, etc and the tie to taxpayer funding should all be put on display in the same carnival sideshow tent.
