A conservative professor who speaks openly about his opposition to gay marriage after having been raised by a lesbian couple has announced that he will be resigning his tenured position following a long battle with liberal activists.

Robert Oscar Lopez, former associate professor of English and classics at California State University at Northridge, recently resigned his position with the academic institution.

In an interview with The Christian Post, Lopez explained that the decision to move on came as a result of longstanding mounting pressure from activists on and off campus.

The good guys have got to have at least as much resolve as the bad guys. God is on our side. That is the difference.

If a professor leaves a tenured position at a certain school, is that tenure transferable to some other school? Or is he just now just another overqualified, overaged job applicant?

So, the children of Lesbians can be bullied to quit their tenured job?

He should have stuck it out. Made them keep paying him. Document everything done to him on a daily basis.

Yeah, this struck me as odd. Robert Lopez is one of the most unapologetic, toughest, outspoken critics of homoFascism around. But perhaps we can't imagine the sense of betrayal and daily grinding that he has gone through. It's like being against the Mob without witness protection.

Imagine being at a job where your colleagues are constantly trying to stab you in the back. It has to be demoralizing, year after year. I hope he has bright future plans. He's a great writer on the subject.

What other college or university would have him? As far as they are concerned, the professor is damaged goods and will only bring bad press and student protests.

Lib always operate on a “scorched earth” policy.

You just described my situation.

Wish he had held out till the end, and that he had enough support to do so.

His first move should be out of California. What a GODless place.

Everything you said is true and I can only imagine how horrible it was. Easy for me to wish he would persist in his daily stance of fierce Lion-Hearted bravery when I don’t have to do it.

The only thing I was thinking is his continued presence on campus was and would continue to be a victory, no matter how painful the daily grind.

But you are right.

On the whole, yes. Hateful leftists with an unmitigated contempt for God win elections by decidedly lopsided majorities there. There might be conservative enclaves, but these are the exceptions.

Certain people are built for such incessant attacks from Evil; they thrive on it. I think Scott Lively is one of them, as is Matt Barber. But most want to live quiet, productive lives without constant drama. I can’t blame them for that.

I expect Lopez to be vocal and active in the future, regardless.

The Right lets its people twist in the wind when attacked.

No support.

No conter protests

No swarm of lawyers and media

No wonder we are losing.

I still remember Scott Lively’s lonely protest outside the Supreme Court building, just he and his wife, later joined by one more. It is deplorable.

We are going to lose everything because we did not strike out when we had a chance.
