Just this week, there was a documentary about them. JLTV or Smithsonian, maybe. I glanced at the summary, but didn't go back to watch it.
Every effective lie is partly true.
Being a topic of heated dialogue, it’s hard to look at issues like this calmly.
The bible is pretty flat out about it: all humanity is comprised of sinners and has thus invited retribution on itself. Does God actually permit such retribution in all cases? No. Does every woe suffered by a person result from evil that the person has personally and specifically espoused? No. There is a larger story being played out, a story of sin and salvation and villains and heroes and a cruel devil and a merciful Savior.
We’d do best to look for truth all around, both the good and the bad and the ugly and the beautiful.
